Why would Mo Williams be looking for a contender where he will play a lesser role?

He's just looking for a payday. He's not a declining vet trying one more time to get his first ring. He would also be payed a hell of alot more in Milwaukee than Miami. I doubt it was just a $1 million difference, especially considering Miami is over the cap and can only really give him the MLE, which isn't what he will be looking for. I heard the Bucks offered a 5 year, $42 million deal, which would give Mo and average of $8.4 million a year, a much bigger payday than the MLE will give him.

If i were him i would go to miami, where it never snows. Sure he would get 1 mil less but he will still make alot of money, he can afford 1 mil less. Loyalty is great, but loyalty doesnt win championships. Look at Stockton, Reggie miller, or Dan Marino. Mo was a 2nd round pick that went from the bench to a starting pg then to a big free agent. Id say he worked his way up to being able to ditch the bucks for a better chance to win. If he is about winning, like most nba players should be, i wouldnt hate him for going to miami because that is just what i would do.

i agree there is a point when a player should forget loyalty and move on. that point is when the team is not doing anything to improve itself to get better. right now he is not at that point in his career to make such a judgement. stockton does not fit in there either cause the jazz always tried to improve itself. the biggest player in any sport ever that should have left instead of stayed loyal was barry sanders. i still say the best football player ever(flame away my friends) and the lions never did shit to give him a chance to win.

about time i found someone else who fully understands the greatness that was barry. the man did the most amazing things behind one of the worst lines ever. right now emmitt owns the rushing record, if barry stayed and played a full career he would have shattered that record, would be almost unreachable right now by anyone ever, just like you said.
