we are near the end of the second season of the zone defence, what do you guys think of it. many players have benefited from it mainly spot up shooters like allan houston, and its also( in my opinion ) made the league more of a team game, making teams have to pass more than go one on one all the time

I think it was a change for the better. The illegal defense rule slowed the game down, and was too easily violated. All a player had to do was be a couple of steps in a certain direction, or too slow reacting on defense, and an illegal defense call would be made.

The 3 second defensive rule is an improvement IMHO - it doesn't allow you to simply park a 7 footer under the basket to block shots and rebound, but there's a little more latitude and margin for error.

the zone ( if worked properly ) can shut down any team, in the past players could sleep on defence, and on offence players where given the green light to go one on one to much or at most work the two man game
