He's not getting enough minutes at PG when Arenas is healthy and playing... he should get traded to a PG-lacking team.. maybe the Lakers?...

I have always thought of him as a good, but far from great, player. Considering the minutes and touches he is getting in this series (with two of the Wizards stars injured), I don't think his numbers are that good. He has to prove himself as a consistent playmaker to be considered a major improvement over Smush Parker.

Heads up for the imporoved play in this playoff though - always niceto see a roleplayer step up with his stars on the bench.

You probably forgot the mention 1 more eye-popping stat, 1.8TO per game in the 4 games against the Cavs in the playoffs...

13.3pts on 44.7% shooting, .442 during the season, not horrible, but definately not a offenisve thread... 11.8 assists and 1.8TO per game only, i think when he was in Seattle, he had 1 of the best Assist/TO assist ratio in the league as well.

I am not sure what kind of defender he is, but i am pretty sure he is above avg and standing at 6-4, 205lbs, definately does not lack size..

I hated him before, because i'm from Vancouver, where he was drafted 4th overall.......... All he had was those 1 handed(jordan look-alike) dunks...

howeve ri haf to say, he is a decent backup, maybe even a starter, i think he is somewhat like Eric Snow with more offensive capabilities ( higher assists ) and prob a little weaker defender..

I think he is fine on da wizards as a backup PG and SG..

For some reason, every player underrated or does something good, ppl ask if lakers can use him, but i guess they can, PHil likes big PGs...

But i don't think he is anything special, unless he can be doing 13pts, 8 assists, 2 turnovers during da season..

I've also always sort of liked Daniels. He had brief stints with both Seattle and the Spurs, but I usually saw him play on the Spurs.

I do think he'd be an upgrade over Smush. He's also the big guard type Phil would love to have complimenting both Odom & Kobe in the triangle offense.

There was speculation he'd join LA a few (maybe one or two) summers ago. When Phil came back and all. I would quite like to have Daniels on the team.

It's nice to see he's doing well stats wise, good for him.

i think the stats inflate his day-to-day activities. He's not really the creator that 11apg implies, just more of a guy that gives the last pass on the play.

I'd call him one of better backup combo guards in the league....his game has definitely matured....was never worth the #4 pick, but then again he was in a weak draft & a very weak PG draft from memory....

He's a very good PG, he's #1 Assist per TO this year and usually in the top 3 every year. Great defender & hustler, i don't think it's a coincidence that he's always in the playoffs with any team he's on, whether it's the Spurs, Sonics, or Wizards.

Definitely a roleplayer but one of the better ones.

Everyone's already said it, but his assist to turnover ratio is really good, it signifies that he never forces the issue and is usually under control. He's definitely one of those guys you would want to have as a back up guard to keep things running smoothly without any major drop-off in ball-movement.

He was a monster for my fantasy team, its a shame that I had to sell him off because the Wizards got swept.

I've always liked Daniels for some reason. I think he would be a nice piece to a team thats almost at that championship level, someone like Houston.

Daniels is a great guard, he was the floor leader for the 2005 Northwest Division Champion Sonics. He always closed out every game for them and he's a great clutch player. Whenever Rashard or Ray Allen faltered, you could count on him to score 25 points. He's a much better player than Smush Parker because he's much more consistent. He's a good shooter who has the ability to get into a zone that Smush Parker rarely if ever sees, and he's much more experienced, hence the strong Assist to TO ratio.

When Billups was drafted, he was a SG in a PG's body....he was a bust for a number of years, but I'm glad he found his place in Detroit....but it was a weak PG draft, that's why Billups went #3....Ron Mercer at #6....weak draft....after Duncan & Van Horn, it really dropped off....I think Brevin Knight was picked at #22 overall, was a good pickup & from memory, the best PG from that draft for quite a few years (unless I'm forgetting someone)....

Antonio Daniels has always been one of the good guys. Always willing to play his role on a team whatever that was and always giving it a good effort. He is a good all-around player, but isn't that spectacular in anything, and that is why he hasn't really broken through. For a 1 he sure has good size and I guess good strength too, but that also means that he is not one of the quickest at the spot either.

I've always liked him... I remember the Seattle days as he got more and more playing time. Again he was good, but he wasn't spectacular enough to really break onto the scene.

He is a worker and comes to work day-in and day-out... And that has to be admired. This is a player that could play with multiple different systems and do his part in each of them. And do it well... These players are the guys that don't get the hype but do leg work for a team to be succesfull... I like players of this type...

As to should he get a chance to run a team... Well, I think he could do well in a system like Seattle, that there are good wing players so he does not have to carry an offensive load, but can contribute with his passing and scoring too, but since he isn't a spectacular scorer, he is best in a complimentary offensive role. The set up guy... And his A-to-TO ratio has always been good. Just doing his job!

Brevin went number 16 to the Cavs. We also had Bobby Jackson, who had a decent rookie year with the Nuggets, which doesnt say much, because the Nuggs were 11-71 or thereabouts.

Jacque Vaughn, who contributed, somewhat to the Jazz's finals run, and is still in the NBA.

Anthony Johnson, who was similar to Jackson, in that he was forced to play significant minutes on a woeful team in his rookie year. 2nd round pickStill in the NBA.

Alvin Williams was there, too.

So yeah, solid role-playing point guards, but no real stars, aside from Billups, who has broken out to become one.
