Their all a good chance, but i see either Wade, Kobe or Nash winning it. LeBron is too high from the ground, compared.

Think Nash can redeem himself after last year's laughable performance?
Ran away twice when he thought the shot was good. I think Lebron will win it this year though.

I've read that Nowitzki and Robinson will return to defend the three point and dunk crowns respectively. Good to see defending champs return to take part. Interesting to see Nash participating given he was lamenting the fact they are All-Star Saturday events about a week ago.

I am looking forward to see the participants for the dunk contest - if the NBA choose wisely, we could have a really good line up this year. Both Gerald green and James White has shown interest in participating, and when you keep their performances in college and high school dunk contest in mind, we could be in for something special.

I hope the lineup will look something like this:

Nate Robinson
Gerald Green
James White

and either JR Smith, Josh Smith, Ricky Davis or Andre Iguodala as the fourth guy.

If Jason Richardson or Vince Carter enter the contest, I'll turn religious.

If Vince or Desmond Mason or any of those guys game back it would be a sight to see. Bloody amazing. Although i'm pretty sure they implemented a rule a few years back preventing any player with 3 or more years experience from competing in the dunk competition, stupid i know. The one guy i want to see most is James White but i'm questioning his availability. He was dropped by the pacers, picked up by the spurs and now dropped again. Currently in the D-League i believe. Hopefully someone scoops him up before the all star break.

James White was called up to the Spurs again:
http://www.nba.com/spurs/news/james_white_070127.html

Another thing about the dunk contest, it's not really a rule that players with 3 or more years of experience can't compete, more of a preference. In 2005, Ricky Davis and Chris Andersen were in their 7th and 4th year, respectively. So technically Desmond Mason, Richardson, Carter, etc. can enter.

I'd rather see the young guys enter though, I'd like to see what eg. Gerald Green has to offer as far as contest dunks.

Ricky Davis didnt participate in the 2005 dunk contest, it was Amare, Josh Smith, Chris Andersen, and JR Smith

I see Dirk in the 3pt,with Arenas,Nash,Mike Miller,Ray Allen... I dunno who the next 3 will be though...
With the Slam dunk,I agree with the Nate-Green-White Trio, along with Josh\Iggy\JR\every good dunker... well of course Vince-J Rich-Bron-Wade-Kobe-Tmac-Marion and other Top Dunkers from the NBA would be accepted...
I believe Wade will repeat.

3pt - Korver, Nowitzki, Redd, Billups, Arenas
Slam Dunk - Nate, G. Green, Pryce, Iggy, Maybe Dwight.

Pryce is playing really low minutes, but Warrick also played only 10 MPG.
He may have a chance. Everyone remembers his Dunk over Boozer.

Then he must've participated in 2004, which would be his 6th year in the league, still.

i think they didn't have that rule in 2004. but anyways, Dwight's a lock in the contest because the league wants to promote him as one of its future stars. The skills comp will be interesting, with Nash, Wade, LBJ, and Kobe. I don't think Ray will do the 3pt comp because he's won it already and has nothing left to prove.

The slam dunk contest are gonna suck if Nate is going. He probably is, but it would be better if he just accepted that he cant dunk as well as Josh Smith (Josh Smith deserved to at least go to the finals last year, and Iggy was clearly the winner in my opinion)

He is, cause he is the defending champ. Just as Nowitzki in the Foor Locker.

Does Foot Locker sponsor the three-point shootout? That's my best guess.

Whatever you meant, you're wrong. Fred Jones wasn't in the 2005 Dunk Contest, for starters, and there are countless other examples.

I thought it was awesome when I saw the highlights. When I saw the actual game that I recorded on my PVR, it was a shitfest. It was horrible.

I would want to see Gerald Green, James White, Nate Robinson (no choice) and maybe Shannon Brown in the contest. I hope they don't snub James White because he hasn't played because he can really put on a show.
