Utah Clippers?

Postby Full Surface on Sun Mar 02, 2003 6:35 am

I just heard a rumor that they're planning to move the Clippers to Utah since the Jazz are going to New Orleans and the Hornets going back to Charlotte. So is this true about the Clippers or what?

Um...weird rumor, since Charlotte was granted an expansion team already; it's too small of a city to be home to two pro teams...

I haven't heard any of these rumors...got the link?

useful reply Clinton...

I heard the same rumor (minus the Clippers part)...however it was about the names...and it died a long time ago because Larry Miller wanted too many dollahs...

Though, if this is a new rumor about the teams moving, it's not going to happen...why would these franchises spend $1 billion to move their teams away from their fan bases? why would Shinnridge pay another bundle of $$$ to move the team back to the city that hates them and pretty much ran them out? why was Matt Steigenga owning all those former MSU players so much in that halftime festivity and afterward flashing his NBA Championship Ring like he had a part in it? why was that even a highlight? why would Charlotte have two franchises if this was true, when it's near impossible for a city that size to handle two NBA franchises?

Sorry Ben. Would you rather me just say "What the hell?", instead of using the emoticon that says pretty much the same thing. What are they there for?

Come on, we don't need any of this. Let's not turn another one of Refuze's posts into an argument. Please, everyone try to avoid remarks meant to instigate flames, and let's also try to avoid getting drawn into one.

The Jazz came originally from new orleans, as well as the hornets from charlotte. I believe that (the hornets part) was stupid, they didn't have to move them if few months later they would come up with another franchise, but I guess they couldn't do much to avoid it. Even though, I don't see any reason to send the Jazz back to New Orleans, since the Utah Jazz name sounds good, I would say no way to the Utah Clippers.

I agree, there's no need to trade team names. The Lakers didn't trade their name back to Minneapolis when their new franchise (Minnesota Timberwolves) was formed. There's no need to ruin lineage.

I agree Clinton, no need to attack someone for no reason after they questioned the reason for your spamming...

I never said they were

I wasn't talking to Andrew, I was addressing Clinton and thus "I agree Clinton, "...simple English...

So, when I post a short sarcastic unharmful sentence regarding something that was pointless, wasteful and shouldn't have been done it was unneeded...but when Clinton or a NBA Fan for example make a quip along the same lines or worse...it's fine...I understand completely...

Don't give me that. They don't make a point of judging the value or quality of other people's posts.

I've had enough, I'm not going to discuss this any further. I've asked everyone to end this part of the discussion without any threat of deletion or action because it doesn't not warrant anything that harsh. Please, no more.
