Wow, hmmm, I want someone to raise their hand and give me an answer when i ask, which team did barcelona play like? (if you were to compare them with an actual nba team). Or... were they just a completely diff team with diff chemistry, skill, etc. Yes, i see you in the back, you had your hand up?

I catch it from time to time when I manage to watch TV when it's on. Just catched the last few minutes of the Spurs game.

Man a horrible free throw game for the Sixers.
Shooting 50-60%.
Dalembert was looking very impressive gettin a double double and a few crazy blocks.

He was actually close to a triple double with all those blocks. Navarro, Lakovic great for Barca, they were the better team today. BTW, the funny thing is that Barcelona started the season losing to some pretty weak teams in Europe, but now they beat the 76ers.

so much for the "take any nba team to the olypics or wc and they will dominate"

Looks like they play some "nba calibur" ball outside the nba (Y) I mean, how many embaressing example do the doubters need?
``They play the game the way it's supposed to be played,'' Iverson said. ``It's not about athletics. That's the game the way Karl Malone and John Stockton play it. It's good for kids to see how the game is supposed to be played.''

Yes, Iverson played...um...not so good. In other words, pathetic. He was outplayed in both ends, even though he got 12 points. Carney is that skinny big man with good jumping from 76ers? Well he was pretty impressive, getting a couple of nice boards, drawing some fouls. But nothing special. Delambert was the only REALLY immpresive player from the 76ers. I mean he almost got a tripple double.

Big man? No. Hes a shortish swingman but yeah you probably thinking of the right guy he is real skinny and athletic. Only 12 for Iverson... damn... I was thinking maybe they lost because Iverson didnt play but I guess not

Ugh. So they were playing under NBA rules, right? Is anyone still convinced NBA doesn't need a change of rules that would bring more team oriented play and favour fundamentals?

Dalember wasn't kidding when he said he's planning to have a breakout season.

i'm surprised any of the players knew what the hell was going on. that would have been a mess.

i absolutely agree. there's a reason why they're constantly being outplayed on the world stage. but it would be a tricky transition period.

Of course a transition period would be needed and of course some 'elite' players of today would have problems for a while or forever (Wade, Lebron, just about anyone who can't shoot or play fundamental team basketball), but the change would be for the better.

Slightly off topic: rumours are emerging again that Stern is making plans for a 5 team NBA division located in Europe. That should never happen. NBA is a North American League and should stay that way. Adding new teams would only additionally water down this League.

Id like to see it happen. Getting 5 of the best European teams into a new division would be great. Barcelona would definately be up there. Dont know if any of the others in Europe live tour would though. But i could see these 5 teams being really competitive, maybe even winning the whole thing.

Still...i just dont see how you get around the travel issues. Also, the European teams would have to adopt the NBA trade/FA system, rather than the football type of transfer system. Im pretty sure the European teams have their own youth teams and develop alot of their young talent themselves...would they still be allowed to do that? Obviously its a system that works really well. Maybe the NBA should adopt this system. With each NBA team being assigned an NBDL team as a youth/reserve team which they use to develop there youngsters and gradually bring them into the first team.

And how would the draft work? I mean that would be one hell of a shock for an american youngster to be uprooted from his familiar country and forced to live in a totally different environment like Moscow...if CSKA are one of the teams. Personally i reckon it would be one hell of an adventure, id love to be "forced" to move to spain and play bball for a living  Maybe thats just me :D

The Sixers aren't a good NBA team, I would have been surprised if they won.

It didn't matter.
Remember that the Sixers had to adapt to some rules too.
Well Barca played a hell of a game.
Didn't seem like the guards on 76ers were trying anyways.

Yeah, I saw the game. I actually like these rules. A NBA/Euro combo with zones and goaltending allowed. This is how it should be in the NBA. And CSKA played beautifully.
