Wow, Ming, Howard/Battier, McGrady, Wells, Alston... I have the feeling that Houston will be much stronger than last year and may compete along with the Spurs, Mavs and Suns for the top spots.

Adds depth to Houston's lineup. I have the feeling people will be overrating Houston.

Well the biggest issue of the Rockets is the Bench. Their starting five is a more than solid one, but the bench consists mainly of scrubs. But with the addition of Snyder, Battier and Wells they do not have this kind of problem anymore.

Improved Defense, improved rebounding, very deep at the swingmen positions. The main problem is the PF spot, I hope Battier can get a shot here as he stated a while ago he would like to play the 4.

My prediction, 3rd southwest division, 6th seed in the western conference, playoff round 2.

Nice pickup for the Rockets, in this day and age Bonzi's a steal at that price.

Wells, a source said, originally wanted Phillips to land him a $50 million deal.

Ouch. It obviously doesn't pay to hold out unless you're part of the NBA's elite...or perhaps a one dimensional or solid-but-nothing-special player who somehow appears more valuable than they really are.

Looks solid, but chemistry is the key to the success of any team. (knicks of course is an example of talent with no chemistry)

Nice addition as long as Bonzi doesn't go nuts on the team. Not sure who would start IMHO though, between Battier (if Battier starts, McGrady moves to SG) and Bonzi (McGrady stays at SF). I'm leaning towards Battier starting because he can hit the three ball more consistently, converting the opening looks T-MAC can provide him when kicking it out or when Yao passes out of a double team, while providing the same defensive intensity as Bonzi.

Did you remember that the rockets took the mavs to game 7 2 years ago? when they had a healthy team?

Will they be better than 2 years ago? Well that depends on Tmac
They have improved depth, scoring, athletism, 3pt shooting, all which were their weaknesses.
They are still really weak at PF, Yao needs a rebounding/defensive presense to cover his weaknesses ( or thats that WERE his weaknesses )

Yao, Mcgrady, Bonzi as 1,2,3 scoring options, they shouldnt' have that much trouble putting the ball in the basket like before..

Prediction, for them to duplicate their record 2 years ago, something like 50 wins..

If the team has a healthy season, i dont' see them losing til 2nd or even 3rd round against 1 of da power houses, Mavs, Spurs, Suns,

Yeah we did have a F.A. thread but w/e.

Great signing for the Rockets. If they stay healthy they have a chance to make a run at the NBA Championship. They got defense, a good playmaker, and two superstars. They got depth now.

Yea but the mavs arent the team they were 2 years ago. They have changed their structure and added new players than 2 years ago. They are one of the best teams in the league and are title contendors. I dont think they were that a few years ago

The Rockets love former Grizzlies seem like it. I think they have too many people playing that SG/SF position so it'll be interesting to see who gets playing time and how everything will work out. I won't say that they will be that good until I see results though.

For some reason i gotta feeling that Wells is gonna play up at the PF as he is such a good rebounder and quite alrite in the post. But thats just what i think....

Definitely a nice pick up, as long as the Rockets stay healthy, we're guaranteed for playoffs. :D

He's 6'5'' though. No matter how good a rebounder you are, that's way too short to play PF. He's no Charles Barkley.
