Varejao might get sued

In a preliminary-round game in Hamamatsu, Japan, on Aug. 23, Varejao elbowed Greece guard Nikos Zisis as he was dribbling through the lane. The blow fractured Zisis' face in several places. He spent a week in the hospital.

An angry war of words followed, and now, according to a European basketball Web site, Zisis and his lawyers are planning to take legal action against Varejao.


I hope D-weaver isn't the lawyer.

That's retarded, sports players are bound to get hurt. It's the risks of the trade.

I don't know how actions like that are usually handled in European play, but in NBA play if it was an unintentional injury nobody would be pursuing legal action.

Did Chad Clifton sue Warren Sapp for Sapp just laying him out, just drilling him on that interception a few years ago Bucaneers vs. Pacers? No, Clifton was out for the entire season, hospitalized with his pelvis broken or something. Suck it up, if you play any sport, you take the risks.
