Guess the final 8 standings

Postby Gedas on Tue Aug 29, 2006 10:22 am

Since there's not much time until the quarterfinals, I thought we should do a little poll. Write your final standings of the 8 teams. Here's mine:

1. Lithuania (what can I say, I'm a fan, I BELIEVE in my team)
2. USA (no comments)
3. Argentina
4. Greece
5. Spain
6. Germany (I simphatyse to them, I think they will take the 6th spot)
7. Turkey
8. France

1- USA (i think they are simply unbeatable)
2- Spain
3- Turkey (my beautiful country is number 1 in my heart always and i hope for a championship but this is a rational post :) )
4- Greece (great team, but i think we can win a rematch)
5- Argentina
6- Lithuania
7- Germany (dirk is cool but that's about it)
8- France (if parker was available they'd probably be higher in my eyes but i don't think they care anyway :) )

6. Lithuania
7. Germany
8. France

I dont think its really that close though. This years team for the USA should make it through easy. The only really star caliber players not on team USA are Manu and Dirk... all the others are either mediocre at best, or benchwarmers in the NBA. I think the guardplay this year is what will allow the USA to win it all.

I've lost all interest in the World Championships, mostly because our coverage is relegated to highlights, but since Australia are gone and I found the USA quite boring to watch I'm not that bothered.

Phh. You know nothing... There's a chance we'll kick team USA's sorry ass for the 2-0 lead tomorrow... :D

Seriously, I'd put Germany ahead of France. But it's a close one between Germany and Turkey for no.6.

Kobe's better at a one man game, and USA should stick to their successful team-first policy.

The only people who have to revise their basketball knowledge are the german national team. The win was definitely not France's effort, our team was just too stupid to finish them off. I'm still pissed. It was exactly the same like in 2002, when our team was too stupid to foul Turkoglu when they were 3 ahead with a couple of seconds to go. What happened? No foul, Hedo makes the three, overtime, loss.
