Last night Spain overcame Russia in the Juniors (U 16) EURO 2006 Division A in Linares, it was a pleasure to watch that game, but let's get to the point...can someone of the spanish guys here give me more info about that Ricard Rubio boy (192-cm, Point Guard), because he did some amazing things on this tournament:
http://www.fibaeurope-u16men.com/en/Default.asp?cid={F48B5859-256A-44CD-A585-D541E90136D0}&teamID=362&compID={89EB60F8-7F8F-4FFB-9427-6103055F3511}&season=2006&roundID=4752&playerID=53827
Just look @ his stats from the final - 51 points, 24 rebounds and 12 assists - a triple-double, and at the semifinal versus Croatia - 19 pts, 11 steals, 13 assists and 10 rebounds - a quadruple-double. I think that's sick and that boy reallly got future, so can someone give me more information about him ?

Don't get so excited man. That Riky Rubio is still a kid. The stats are impressive, specially the quadruple-doble figure, but playing at that level at the age of 15 doesn't really mean he could become a great basket player when he reach full pro status.

Holy fuck, 51/24/12?? Jesus

I'm not expecting him to be a future NBA player but god damn.

the guy must have had the ball in his hands at all times on offense....the 24 boards is impressive....

I follow the ACB and I think this kid plays for Estudiantes of Madrid, but I believe I've seen him playing as SF, not PG.

dude averages 6.5 steals

Sorry, I'm wrong. He plays for Joventut as PG. He's the 3rd PG of the team after Elmer Bennet and Marcelinho Huertas. I've seen him playing in the playoffs where Joventut finished at semi-finals.

Hey guys, this kid is really a bomb, it's really playin 4-5 minutes between much older players, and already doing it decently. Considering that Elmer Bennett could be his father, and he will be a perfect teacher for him, I predict a very nice future in ACB league for him, and perhaps in the NBA. I've already listened to him on the radio, and seems to be a very tidy head, always thinking about the work of the other mates

He has been compared to Pete Marivich, and he is one of the few European prospects that I think can make it to the NBA. I like what im seein from Rubio

www.nbadraft.net has already posted his profile, it means something. Have a look at articles

- It means he's a draft prospect... that's all. However, he does sound like he's got a future ahead of him. What I've read there are indeed many areas he can improve on but he has the natural athletic ability which is an advantage.

However I read that the reason he gets so many rebounds is because his team is undersized and so he needs to go for them...

That's true, but how many 15-years-old players have u heard about in nbadraft.net?? And, he could catch 7-8 rebs, but 24 rebs??
Mon Oct 09, 2006 8:34 pm
Actually he's averaging 3 steals per game in ACB league (the 2nd best league in the world)
Tue Dec 19, 2006 8:32 am
Damn... that boy continues to impress, in the last Joventut game in the Euroleague he had 4 rebs, 7 assists and 7 steals in 17 mins or something
Mon Dec 25, 2006 4:05 am
he will be new nash

luol deng also played in finals of U-16 championships and scored as I can remember sth like 35 pts so as you see Rubio has a BIG CHANCE to become a solid NBA player, maybe even a star

No, man he's not 15, he's actually 17/18 and he is going to be in the 2009 Draft, and expected to be in the 1st round. He's got a real bright NBA future. Check this-->

he is a talented player and he got future guys i hope he would come to panathinaikos
some basketball experts said that Ricky Rubio will be the best player in europe in a couple of years example when he get 19 years
someone of them called him "Alexandar Djordjevic"
Djordevic was coming to Panathinaikos to sign a 2 years contact as i remember but as he was coming he had an accident and he died
i hope the lil Ricky will have the same road(come to pao/not die)

I doubt having a smiley and the thumbs up sign is suitable alongside a statement of someone's death.
(Unless that someone really deserves to die for something that had been done)
