Wade to Sign Lebron-Esque Contract!

Dwyane Wade could be following LeBron James' lead.

Wade, who reportedly agreed to a five-year, $80 million max extension with the Miami Heat last week, is instead expected to sign a three-year deal with a player option for a fourth season, ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported Tuesday.

Will Melo follow his peers?

Yeah. . I'm just saying Wade is looking to the future, what if the next two seasons things don't work out, he can just go somewhere else, unlike Carmelo and Lebron, and Bosh, if he signs a 5 year deal!! 5 years is too long ahead IMO, but I guess they want to have 80 million in their bank account.

So you are saying that if things don't work out, just take the easy way out abondon it? Role players can do that. If a player really wanted to make a name for himself, he'd stay and bring back the team.

Are you aware that Lebron was the one who first came up with the idea...

Well technically the players didn't come up with it at all, their agents did. So LeBron's agent is smarter than Wade and Carmelo's.

On The Score (canadian sports channel) it said LeBron and Wade were both signing 3 year deals, and Carmelo's was a 5 year deal.

Wade is going to make 20mil a season? wow. He'll be the third highest paid player in the NBA. Though I suppose if you're going to pay somebody 20 million, only a few players would be worth it and it seems Wade would be one of them.

I don't see why they need so much money, after you're rich, what's the point of being richer, it's not like you cant spend allll that money anyways.

If someone gave me $100 million, I'm sure I could spend it in a week or less.

Looks like Wade's also eyeing the possibility of an even bigger payday when the current CBA expires. But like LeBron, I don't think there's need for concern yet. Tim Duncan also only re-upped for three years after his rookie contract expired and he's still in San Antonio.

that's a pretty good choice by Lebron and Wade. I think sticking around for too long with a the same team is kinda boring and people want variety. Anyways, 20 million a year is amazing.
