In a surprising move, the Bobcats waived Kareem Rush. The shooting guard did not play on Friday night against the Bulls.
"We had a conversation, and it ended abruptly," Bickerstaff told the Observer Saturday. "The young man has an abundance of talent, and I hope he realizes that."
"The Bobcats are about two things -- hard work and maximum effort," Bickerstaff said. "With that in mind, we think it's best to go in a different direction with Kareem."

Sun Apr 02, 2006 10:09 am
Wonder if the Lakers will pick him up. Lord knows we need that 3point shot.
Sun Apr 02, 2006 10:22 am
shit i didnt see that coming. i thought he had a future with the bobcats. could anyone please tell me why he hasn't been playing?
Sun Apr 02, 2006 11:22 am
Wow man... good news for LA

Oh yeah... hope Kupcake can get to him!
Sun Apr 02, 2006 11:40 am
dam thats a shock... i thought he was doing ok with them, probly just not trying hard enough

Man, Kareem is one of the players that I'm rooting for and it looked like he was going to bust out with the Bobcats, but I'm pretty suprised at what Bickerstaff said.
"The Bobcats are about two things -- hard work and maximum effort," Bickerstaff said. "With that in mind, we think it's best to go in a different direction with Kareem."
Seems like he lacks the attitude to succeed in the NBA if Bickerstaff isn't satisifed with his effort. I'd always watch him play games and I'd wonder what the fuck he was doing. He would jack up pull-up threes, retarded fadaways, and generally shoot it every time he got it until he got benched.
I'd really like him to succeed in the NBA though.

wow, they waived one of their best players.
Sun Apr 02, 2006 12:07 pm
They also waived Eddie House when he was like their 2nd leading scorer... sometimes I wonder what they're upto. They're either idiots or geniuses.
Sun Apr 02, 2006 12:13 pm
Yeah, I wondered why they waived House, but I guess they felt they had their point guard rotation was set after Hart and Knight played so well and had a pass-first mentality more than House.

Maybe Phoenix will pick him up too lol
Sun Apr 02, 2006 1:34 pm
Surprising move, but as others have already deduced it's obvious his attitude clashed with Bickerstaff, leaving him in the doghouse and ultimately costing him his spot on the team.

Lol, when i first read this on realgm before it was posted here, i thought it was an april fool's prank. Turns out it was for real. by the way, this also means he cant play on the playoff roster of any team if he gets picked up by a playoff team.
Sun Apr 02, 2006 1:43 pm
I never liked Rush, I prefered Bogans, but he got traded so i'm stuck
Sun Apr 02, 2006 2:37 pm
obviously Charlotte doesnt want anyone that they think wont fit in with their team....kareem doesnt fit, i guess
this means, however, that a contender can pick him up for the stretch run...
Sun Apr 02, 2006 2:38 pm
I'm not sure they'd bother, seeing as though he's ineligible for the playoffs.
Sun Apr 02, 2006 3:15 pm
^^ Well with that being said then I'd prefer LA not to pick him up lol
He should come play in the NBL!

On a sidenote to people... when Ron Ron was suspended for the season, would he have been eligiblwe to play overseas?
Sun Apr 02, 2006 3:25 pm
What about Birdman as well? Is he eligible to come play for the Supercats
Sun Apr 02, 2006 4:08 pm
looks like another Rush is burning all his opportunity cards....JaRon Rush

Kareem Rush

the other Rush

& eventually it will happen to Brandon Rush too
Sun Apr 02, 2006 5:40 pm
They should all join together to make the All-Rush Team and play in the ABA!
Yeh, I just forgot that theres a handful of them...

Probably not unless that team could come to an agreement with the Pacers and even then I'm not sure that's allowed unless they buy out his contract. And no Australian basketball club has enough money to do that.

That's another proof that in the actual NBA talent is under suspicion. Eddie House, Kareem Rush, Wagner, JR Smith, Araujo... They prefer now a defender who can't do anything on the offensive end ( (cough)... Ben Wallace... ) than a great scorer who lacks defense. Well, at least we still have college basketball.
Sun Apr 02, 2006 7:34 pm
That's only five role players out of over 400 NBA players though. One could also argue Wagner's out of the league due to the health problems he's had his entire career and that there's usually court time for players who can chip in points here and there without being a complete liability. Jannero Pargo comes to mind.

- I was more thinking on the lines that he could have come down and did more promoting of himself down here lol I guess contracts all get in the way of things in the end though. Money makes the world go round... damn money... lol

Well atleast they didn't waive Brezec
