marion is a great defender but do you think he is a greater defender than bowen...

ak on the other hand blocks 8 i think 3 to 4 times now, and as of late he contibues to swat shots...

lol, in all seriousness though I think Marion should get it. However, I reckon Gerald Wallace would've been a certainty if he didn't get injured.

Gerald Wallace, no dispute. First player in a billion years* to average 2spg/2bpg... though I think he's dropped in spg.

*Slight exaggeration.

anyone seen Bruce Bowen holding onto Kobe tonight all the time, he does it in a way that refs cant see.....but

Ben Wallace!!!!! just the 5th player in NBA history to log 6 consecutive season of 100+ steals and 100+ blocks.

Bowens a good defender, but not on a consistent basis. He gets roasted by guys like Melo and Carter sometimes.

I have to agree that Gerald Wallace is a sleeper candidate. He's got a ton of hustle and the stats speak for themselves.

I hope Kirilenko wins it though... He'll be the guy I'm rooting for.

Despite being a Spurs fan, I kinda dislike Bowen. I mean he's good for the team and he definitely has his niche but his style is dirty plus he mostly just leads his opponent to the great defensive frontcourt that the Spurs have.

I'm an AK47 fan though so I'm a little biased.

So? They would give up a lot less if they didn't score so quickly.

Since stats usually sway the voters, I'd go with Ben Wallace over Bruce Bowen.

Hmm Bowen limites superstar players and Wallace is nothing but a defensive monster. As stats may matter I'd go with Wallace but Bowen will be for sure in All NBA Defensive team.
