Suns destroying the Rockets

Fri Feb 17, 2006 2:43 pm

They're up by 46 points now, the way this game is going the lead could be up to 60 before the game ends.

Obviously the Rockets aren't the cream of the crop, but still... they usually do a good job limiting their opponents. Are the Suns good enough to make it to the finals, and compete if they get there?

Fri Feb 17, 2006 2:46 pm

Obviously they're that good. They're the Suns!!!

Duh. I know that better than most people after watching them destroy the Heat twice this season :x

But there are some people who keep discounting them, which I don't understand..

Suns have an insane playmaker, mr. Steve Nash. Right now I would say they will not make the Finals, unless Amare returns

Fri Feb 17, 2006 3:42 pm

Don't know what the fuck happened to Houston today, we won by 31 against Clippers last gamen...Now this :?

Fri Feb 17, 2006 4:10 pm

 Pat Burke > Yao Ming

Fri Feb 17, 2006 4:13 pm

man.. thats fucked up... sigh... and pat burke.. jae? no.

Fri Feb 17, 2006 4:17 pm

Yao:

19 minutes, 2-7 shooting, 6 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 1 foul

Burke:

15 minutes, 3-7 shooting, 7 points, 6 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 steals, 1 block, 3 fouls

Suns vs Rockets: Pat Burke > Yao

Fri Feb 17, 2006 4:24 pm

Pat Burke is my favourite Irishman playing for the Suns.

Fri Feb 17, 2006 4:25 pm

and you back your hypothesis on just one game?

Well since I was refering to just that one game, yes

Fri Feb 17, 2006 4:27 pm

2 total routes today.

Fri Feb 17, 2006 4:40 pm

 Yao getting 0 boards.... very sad. He is 7"5....

Fri Feb 17, 2006 5:24 pm

lol i don't know who's more to blame: Yao Ming for being useless or Van Gundy not being able to devise a gameplan to get him more invovled. Last time this happened, at least both those 2 could use the excuse of Tmac not playing. Now this is ridiculous. Kudos to the Suns though

Fri Feb 17, 2006 5:46 pm

@air2k5 Amarè is expected to return soon. And Burke is insane ;)

Fri Feb 17, 2006 6:18 pm

This game proves that nba teams now doesn't have to have a tall center to defend a dominating big man. The suns did it with shaq and now with yao. I don't think van gundy or yao should be blamed. Its the supporting cast and tmac that didn't show up and add the fact that the suns were shooting the lights out. In this league if you don't shoot well enough you're in for a long night...

right, and Yao did?

i assume by dominating you mean Yao? well no, he's too slow with the ball to scare anyone. He's also too slow laterally.

hm. not to bring any racial indeas and huge arguments, but it seriously seems like all the aussies here always hate on chinese basketball. meh.

at least tmac got owned with yao, so he isnt singled out.

Sat Feb 18, 2006 4:17 am

LOOOOOOLLL. i can´t understand this Yao is 7"5 and didn´t get any rebounds.

Naw, there's a lot of Aussies on the NLSC, and they're criticizing Yao's play, not Chinese basketball.

I agree, and i am chinese..
Yao can be impressive on the offensive end sometimes, he had a nice baseline spin and quick dunk.. That was it, and he can shoot and do hook shots.. he can't control or protect the ball and hes not fast/strong enough..
Nor is he aggressive enough..
If he was MUCH stronger, he would be doing like avging 25/12.. if he was quicker, he would be like a 25/12 guy too, if he had good control with the ball, he would be just as dominating, or if he was just ultra aggressive, he would be fine.. he doesn't haf any of these attributes, he'll only be a 20/10 guy if he stays like this..

Shaq's athletic, strong, good hands, and relatively quick, thats why he had no problem avging like 30 points and 14 boards.. he didnt' have yao's height.. Yao doesn't have shaq's athletism..

Sat Feb 18, 2006 6:37 am

Nash walked into the lane all night long and laid it in or kicked out. He shouldn't have gotten a single one of those leaning lay-ins.

How the hell do you let a 6'2" guard own the paint like that and get no rebounds, no blocked shots, and leave the game with 1 foul?

Sat Feb 18, 2006 7:14 am

Stop it maes, you're being racist and insulting Chinese basketball!!

seriously man, great example you set

Sat Feb 18, 2006 9:54 am

What are you on about? Great example? So I can't critisise a player from another country because it's racist

Stop being such a homer and try looking at the actual facts instead of just "OMG SOMEONE IS INSULTING YAO". Once you grow out of your current idiotic phase, then talk to me. Until then, save your misinformed, overly biased offensive opinions for someone who cares.
