Radmanovic to Clippers

Postby Doobie on Wed Feb 15, 2006 8:58 am

Vladamir Radmanovic has just been traded to Clippers for Chris Wilcox , saw it on NBA TV .

I think its good for the Clippers because they need some 3pt shooting.

Clippers got a good deal here... They use Kaman and Brand a lot anywayz, and don't need wilcox..

Great deal for the Clips... Radman can even play the 3 and fill Maggette's gap...

Wilcox is a bet for the Sonics, if he gets a starter's job and significant playing time, it is possible he will explode.

Given the little playing time Wilcox got in LA and Vlado's discontent in Seattle ( 95% chance he'd bolt as a FA this summer), this is a good exchange for both teams but the immediate future favors the Clippers more.

Any chance that Seattle did this trade because they want another player on the block because they're trading one of their bigmen...to New York maybe? :P

to New York maybe?

Great. Danny Fortson to the Knicks. Another undersized PF with a bloated contract. Are you sure this is what NY fans want?

The main reason for the trade is Vlade's stance has always been that he's gonna leave Seattle (because Seattle cannot afford to resign him to a major contract & Rashard to a major contract renegotiation), so they can get something for him or lose him to free agency for nothing.

Overall, Chris Wilcox is a lot better than nothing.

I think it was worth the gamble to get Wilcox. I mean, the Sonics have enough soft players hanging around the three point arc.

I was never a fan of Vlad because he's such a piss poor defender and his rebounding numbers are so bad.

I think/hope that Seattle gets the better side. I hate Radman and love Wilcox.
If Wilcox starts for Seattle, he will no doubt get some big rebounding numbers, dunno bout scoring, but I know he can...when Brand or Kaman was injured, he was dominating!

me too, Wilcox is in my top 10 favourite big men of the league (big men being players that play mainly PF and C)

Radmanovic is a bag of shit, I couldnt get rid of him in my fantasy team and im stuck with him cos rosters got locked :x

I don't know why he didn't take the 6 year deal at $7mill per....guess he saw what Dunleavy got  shouldn't get a deal that good now....

hope Wilcox does well....although when I saw him at the game IRL, he sucked....looked so out of place it was ridiculous....

I hope Fortson goes to NY. I hope Isaiah continues to make as many moves as possible. In doing so, he is only further setting up the franchise for failure. They do not have a great player to build around, and any role players acquired simply add to a roster of mediocre players who cannot thrive without a superstar. Marbury is not the best PG in the league as he thinks... what a joke...

Radmanovic will hopefully produce for the Clippers. He'll have to take a bench role though once Maggette comes back. Hopefully he can be happy with those minutes.

Is it because he's athletic, and has all the skills to be good. Well, that's the same thing with Kwame. Seriously though, Wilcox is a better player than Radmonovic, for the Sonics. Radmon is a better player than Wilcox for the Clippers.

solid trade for both teams, especially for seattle as radmonovic was gonna leave anyway at the end of the year. on some levels it hurts to lose him - one of the ebst spot up shooters in the league, but he really needed to be more like rashard - take it to the rack, make some contact, get a few boards. vladi is one of the softest 6'10 small forwards i have ever seen, he has the physical attributes to be great, but i guess not the desire.

seattle is still in a world of hurt, they needed a good back up point guard, ridnour is playing way too much, sure do miss antonio daniels at this point, o well. coach hill announced that if seattle didnt start making improvments right away then he wa gonna throw in the towel and call the season a failure and start to develop the younger players, start calling plays for swift and petro

my how far the sonics have fallen

I think it's more the fact that he played quite well at the start of last season when he got a shot. Although the Sonics are now left with Wilcox, Evans, Fortson, Collison and whatever other PF's they've got in storage.

I think it's a good deal for the Sonics. When given starters minutes, Wilcox has shown he can produce some good numbers. I don't know why Dunleavy more or less cut him out of the rotation

As maes mentioned, Radman would have left. Good riddance anyway- his agent cost him a shit load of money by overrating him

Seattle has been rumored to be looking for takers for fortson & Evans. I think this deal has sealed the fate for those 2 being traded
