what happened to darko anyways? haven't heard from him in quite a while.

He was tearing it up in the preseason and now he rides the bench. Once again. Yup, that's our Darko. I hope he retires, goes to Europe for a couple of years, comes back to the States and becomes the next Jordan.

But then again - if you were Charlotte, would you trade for him? And I mean giving up some serious talent a la Gerald Wallace&Melvin Ely for Darko&fillers? He isn't Kwame-like. He has the right mentality, the psychical stats Kwame never had and actual talent which he shows if opportunity is given.

why don't you point out which statistical analysis of his you find has major flaws and explain why

Basically, stats are only a guidline to go by not facts. Not referring to his stats alone, but in general they neglect many factors (all which i mentioned in a previous thread).

i agree with you matt. Kwame is a much better defender than what Hollinger's stats say.

So you're saying something as cut and dry as FT stats are flawed? Dirk has made 50 FT's in a row. I think it's safe to say, going by the stats for players who have shot 50FT's, that he currently has been the best FT shooter in the league.

Now there are some stats that aren't accurate such as Assist to Turnover ratio but there have been other assist stats that have been come up with to better evaluate a players ability to get other players involved

I do not think stats tell the whole story but some credence should be given to them, especially those by the geeks over at 82games.com.

That's why most people don't like stats. They just don't understand them. Real stats that is, not per game stats.

I think they might be best off keeping Darko, although i can understand if he wants to leave for more PT.

He's still damn young to write off as a bust.

then again so was kwame and he still is... maybe a kwame for darko(after he gets his contract extended)

the problem is, we want more than what anyone is prepared to give.

i highly doubt his attitude will EVER right itself in detroit, he really needs to leave to get a new idea of the game.

I do understand them, it's just that some of them aren't that great at all. Correct me if i'm wrong but do their defensive analysis account for missed defensive rotations or how many times a guy has been faked out?

thats a pretty cool site. its weird to see that michael redd is the worst SG defensively, yet was picked out of college for his defensive skills
