WTF, I was looking at the All Star ballot thingys and look:

Allen Iverson (Phi.) 1,144,250
Dwyane Wade (Mia.) 827,913
Vince Carter (N.J.) 634,231
Jason Kidd (N.J.) 283,657
Chauncey Billups (Det.) 258,106
Steve Francis (Orl.) 220,766
Gilbert Arenas (Was.) 194,592
Richard Hamilton (Det.) 192,200
T.J. Ford (Mil.) 81,010
Michael Redd (Mil.) 76,613

WTF, why os Aremas behing Francis? Pussy Carter? Billups and Kidd? Arenas is averaging 29ppg, and 6apg. He should be behind Wade!! I know theres still like 20 more games till AllStar Weekand but wtf

Billups and Kidd?

Why would that be such an outrage? Chauncey is the one getting jipped, he's not gonna get voted in by the fans like he should and the coaches will get him in there. Arenas deserves to go tho.

All-Star voting is essentially a popularity contest and doesn't necessarily reflect how well a player is doing. That said the players who garner the most votes usually are among the elite players in the league.

Exactly. Look at Yao Ming. The past few years, he was voted to start in the All-Star game. Popularity is all that matters in this ballots.

I haven't looked at the new results but Amare Stoudemire was ahead of Elton Brand before. That is pathetic.

VC can dunk good
Francis can dunk good
Billups is deserving ( pistons record reflects that)
Kidd is popular still

and yeah its a popularity contest, and fans want to see some spectuclar stuff in the all star game
Yao Ming is 2nd in total votes.. been though rockets are 0-8 without tmac ( in other words 0 wins with yao being the go to guy)

Yea thats true....But still Arenas deserves it more than Billups. I like Billups but Arenas is the 3rd best Guard in the East, probally 5th in the league. Iverson, Wade, Kobe, Nash, Arenas.

Same thing happened with Vince Carter on during some year he was injured. He didn't play most of the 1st part of the season yet still led the voting.

Stupid fans. :x

Personally, I wish the coaches picked all the players out. Most fans don't care enough to check out the stats before they cast their votes. A lot of times player charisma and appearance/attractiveness will attribute to a spot on the all-star team. I'm sure there are plenty of girls out there who vote for the "cutest" player.

The system is a bit flawed but the All-Star game is about the fans and who they want to see. Perhaps it would be better if the fan voting ensured certain players would see action in the ASG but it was up to the team/coach to nominate who would start? That might be the best compromise.

You're an idiot. Chauncey Billups is also the superior player to Gilbert Arenas. The two guards for the east, however, should be Iverson and Wade.

The only surprise I see there is Steve Francis over Gilbert just because I havent heard jack shit about him all year. I would have thought more fans would have voted for Arenas but everone else over him is understandable.

Where's a puking emoticon when you need one? Yao in LA? Please no.

He quoted the right person, KevC's a big Yao fan.

Give me Amare over Yao any day in LA, he's more suitable, the excitement just goes hand in hand with LA. :P

hm... yao isnt suited for la, too much media and stuff... glad he didnt go to Ny either, these big city critics and news get on every little thing you do, and thats not the best way to live.

best to play for a mid-market like houston.. or laid back place like san antoino

Maybe over Kidd, but not Billups.....

3 best PG's in the league are.....Iverson, Nash & Billups....anyone else is a notch below.

WTF, why os Aremas behing Francis? Pussy Carter? Billups and Kidd?

the answers are easy....Francis does nasty dunks, as does Carter, and Billups & Kidd are the 2 unselfish guys that will throw those lob passes.

You're excused.

Iverson plays the point though, he commands the offence. (I think he plays the point)

No, he's great. He's the best true PG in the league right now.
I think everybody will agree he is the leader of the Pistons. Not necessarily the best player of most talented but he is the main reason they're 24-3 right now.
Arenas is too much of a ballhog and takes a lot of dumb shots every game, Billups always plays big in crunch time and in big games and get 30 without being a ballhog.

he still plays PG, and is the only shoot first PG that you can build a successful team around.
