Wade & LeBron boring?

Postby Matt on Fri Dec 30, 2005 2:54 am

anyone else out there get kinda bored of these too? No doubt both are very good bball players, but theres one thing they have incommon, that is there strength, and yet fails to excite me anymore.

They both end up going to the hole frequently and get fould or throw it down. I find this rather monotonous. Sure it works, but where is the variety?

that's why i love watching AI.....he'll hit that big 3, go hard at the basket and make some freakishly nifty layup (Wade does some freakish shots though), cross someone up or make a spectacular pass. Whereas Wade or LeBron can't shoot 3's and they don't really use their dribbles either.

yes/no. (watches as the Wade & LeBron bandwagon approaches)

LeBron and Wade are pretty versatile players, and I think that they're nothing short of exciting. I think that they can do a variety of things that can impress me other than thow it down.

Dwyane Wade has a fantastic crossover and he can really blow by people.

For someone his size, LeBron is an amazing passer with a ton of court vision and has great ballhandling skills too.

There are other things to their game too, but those are things that stick out in my mind right now.

Maybe one thing that impedes their skills is their teams shitty offense. Perhaps if each team played more of a motion offense i'd be more impressed. Right now both teams have a stagnant offense that's kind of "lets watch him score".

I'd say Philly has very much the same type of "let's watch him score" offense with Iverson, if your claim is that's how Cleveland (maybe) and Miami (hello Shaq?) run theirs.

LeBron can hit the 3, Wade can't. Boring? No way. If you think Wade and LeBron are boring, then I can understand why you're a Piston's fan.

Lebron not hit three's? The guy has hit 41 three's and is shooting 35% from downtown, don't know where you got that idea.

Bah, a Pistons fan saying (of all players) LeBron and Dwyane Wade are boring. What else is new?

I agree, Allen Iverson is more exciting to watch than Lebron and Wade. But I wouldn't call Wade and Lebron boring. It's just Allen is extremely exciting.

Yeah, me too. I liked watching Lebron in his first season and last year, when he passed much more. This year, it's just strength. He is effective, but he is all power, little finesse.

Wade has extended his shooting range this year (not from 3 pt range, but within the arc), though the numbers don't necesarily show that.

I'm not sure how much more either him or Lebron can do to make their game more exciting. I've always thought a player like Wade is more exciting than just a jumpshooter... but I guess that's subject to opinion.

Wade does a lot more interesting things, like splitting the D or crossing people and sinking a jumpshot in crunchtime. Lebron is just not taht interesting, I mean he's good, but even hisdunks aren't good, he has no style or he's not creative when it comes to dunking.

I like watching Wade, kind of reminds me of my favortie player AI. :proud:
I like watching Wade go strong to the basket! :headbang:

Maybe because of Lebron's talent, I expect him to do more in a game which I usually don't see so I also find Lebron boring. Even his dunks look plain to me. :|

I don't really like watching Wade play. He needs the ball to contribute on offense. He can't play off the ball at all. Van Gundy was trying to get him to earlier in the year since he had great playmakers such as J-Will and Payotn playing with him, but Wade couldn't adjust to it. He's ruined the Heat half-court offense. All it is in late game situations is isolating Wade and having him drive to the basket. His decision-making isn't too great and his three-point shot is non-existent. He'll sometimes just throw any shot up in attempt to get fouled. It's becomes quite boring after awhile.

Can't say I agree with the notion that those guys are boring. I love great basketball as much as the next fan, but I love highlight reel plays and highflying feats as well.

I'm a bit bored with their dunks really... I know LeBron had that cool reverse thing, but they tend to throw it down in the exact same way everytime. Unfortunately my short term memory is good so I remember that they just did that same dunk 5 minutes ago.

Jae- i think you're getting a little complacent. maybe it's cause you just see the highlights rather then the actual dunk happening in the flow of the game?

heh Bogut has a whopping 19 dunks so far

haha that was a funny one, Axel

Those 19 dunks puts him at 43rd in the league

That post made very little sense. Where exactly did I claim Bogut to be a dunker, or even mention him dunking for that matter?

Anyways I have ADSL now... I do get to watch full games. I just expect a bit of variety and not the same thing over and over. I am also very disillusioned with the idea of dunking "on" someone... because 90% of the time the defender isn't even in the vicinity of the guy dunking. He could just hang out his arm or something and people flip out and say he got dunked on.
