someone from lakersground wrote:After the game concluded, Kobe lashed out at Odom, went toward the locker room and threw a TV Monitor down the hall. Locker room was locked, with the Lakers inside, and the media was not allowed in. - Reported on XTRA SPORTS 570.

Phil briefly spoke to the media, did not mention what happened in the locker room, and went back in.

I see it now, ESPN will make a big deal out of this.

Hopefully, this will light a fire in Lamar Odom. I personally prefer Lamar gets traded to Indy for Artest. Kobe and Lamar can take turns throwing TV monitors down the hall. :)

lol so what Kobe lost an emotional game, he can be pissed, not pissed enough to throw TVs but I see why he's pissed at Odom. Lamar should be 2nd leading scorer everynight, not having less then Brian Cook...

After thew game against Washington. no link yet but it was reported on a local radio station and ESPN will be at it soon. The game is currently being aired on a tape delay.

Odom needs to wake up and grow up. Kobe needs him to be aggresive, Kobe has given him several chances to hit game winners but he has repeatedly failed. Last week it was Phil sending Odom a message, now it's Kobe.

This is what happened:
The final play was forced by Kobe, because Lamar Odom wasn't paying attention when the ball was inbounded and didn't get in his spot. Kobe had to run up after yelling and screaming at Lamar and try to create an open shot for a teammate since he was double-teamed. I was there and saw it LIVE.

Lakers have now lost 2 in a row. (N)

Even if it's in front of two guys he jumps so high on fadeaways it doesn't matter. He's got so many resources, it's easy for him to take 35 shots. If I was his teammate, I wouldn't care."

(Y) Wizards should have won the first game in LA , at least they won this one. And as usual Kwame Brown is "The Invisible Man" like he was in Washington. It was a horribly lopsided trade to trade a non-contributer like Brown to LA for 2 players that actually resembled some signs of talent in Butler and Atkins. I wish I was at the game so I could have booed Kwame Brown and maybe thrown something in his general direction. I wouldn't care if I got ejected , he deserves it for being such a failure in Washington DC.

From AP Report
Brown finished with five points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes.

He was also on the receiving end of derisive laughs when a pass to him bounced off his head and went out of bounds.

"It was worse than that when I was here," Brown said of the boos.

:D

Anyways , about Kobe , is he doing his Jim Mora Jr impression now? Sheesh.

Mitch Kupchak got us a power forward that can play D.

You guys got Caron and his matador defense. And of course you got Chucky Atkins, someone we would have probably traded for a bag of peanust.

Mitch Kupchak also got you an offensive failure who scored 5 points tonight. I can remember once in the 4 years I followed Kwame from his draft to his departure from Washington that Kwame actually had a good game. I believe it was in the 11th grade and I was talking Wizards basketball with some other kid and he was like "Hey [my name here] did you hear Kwame Brown scored 24 (or something I don't remember the exact number but it was 20-ish) points against the Spurs". That was the only time he actually contributed to the Wizards. Otherwise he has been a colossal failure in Washington and his stats in LA look identical to his Washington stats.

But I can't hate on Kupchack , man. Thanks to him , the Wizards picked up Butler whose offense input helps the team!

Caron Butler : 15.3 ppg (y)
Kwame "Failure in Washington DC" Brown : 5.9 ppg (n)

This christmas , I should have sent a present to buddy Mitch for helping trade a no-talent for someone who actually scores points. :D

He cant says who? says the one hit wonders fan who has watched how many laker games this season?
Also, please dont compare Jerome James and Kwame Brown, Jerome James is a weakside defender. Kwame is a man defender, he is not a shotblocker but he denies you position downlow. Just ask Shaq, and KG(He played twice against LA, one with Kwame defending him, the other with Mihm)

Mitch Kupchak also got you an offensive failure who scored 5 points tonight. I can remember once in the 4 years I followed Kwame from his draft to his departure from Washington that Kwame actually had a good game. Caron Butler : 15.3 ppg Thumbs Up
Kwame "Failure in Washington DC" Brown : 5.9 ppg Thumbs Down

This christmas , I should have sent a present to buddy Mitch for helping trade a no-talent for someone who actually scores points.

I love you wizards fans who think it's all about the offense.

we got what we needed, a big man that doesnt get pushed around in the post. you got what you needed, someone to make the loss of Larry Hughes less painful.
Caron=15.3? He was playing much better than that for us last season.

Oh and if you want to get statistical about tonight's game. check this out:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051227/ap_ ... rs_wizards
The Lakers had a two-point lead when Brown entered the game and a 14-point cushion when he left eight minutes later. Yeah, bad trade for LA indeed. Good luck with Caron and his matador defense. (Y)

Butler's per 40 stats:
21.4 pts 7 rebs 3.2 asts

Brown's:
9.2pts 9.3 rebs 1.4 asts

Butler's PER: 19.8

Brown's: 7.9

Yeah, Lakers stole Kwame  . He's playing as well as Ha Seung-Jin.

It's an obvious trend. I like Kobe's game, but his teammates always become bitter with his attitude. Imagine how Artest's and Kobe's egos would clash.

I love you wizards fans who think it's all about the offense.
Irrelevant, because Butler is more efficient on offense, just as efficient on defense, and his PER is much higher than Brown's.

And take those racist comments out of here before something bad happens.

Shaq is not Kobe's teammates.

Say what?
Try watching a Wizards game, Caron Butler defends like a matador. How do i know? Because i saw him defend like that for 1 year in LA. As for his per higher than Kwame's, of course it it, Kwame is nowhere near Butler's offensive talent. No need to state the obvious, genius.

And take those racist comments out of here before something bad happens.

Im worse than those Koreans, im a pinoy.
If i offended you KevC, im sorry.

Unfortunately, Kwame had this to say:
""That was weak," Brown said in the Times. "It was worse than that when I was here.""
Kwame played just 20 minutes, but had good numbers for that period with 7 boards (3 offensive) and 5 points on 2-4 shooting.

I don't thnk Kwame even had the kind of ability everyone expected him to have. His hands are small, which is cancer for every big man, he doesn't have length needed to be a dominant shot blocker. For instance, his standing reach is 9', his wingspan is 7'1'' and he was measured at 6'10'' without his shoes on at the predraft camp. David West (6'8 1/4'' without shoes) has a standing reach more than that (9' 1/2'') and so have SFs like Luol Deng (6'7'' -> 9'1/2''. He reportedly grew an inch from his last official measurement). In fact, Kwame's length is actually more in a class of a long SF than a dominant big man. And while he has good quickness and speed, he never shows that awesome vertical everyone were talking about. He came into this league as a face-up PF with overhyped psychical skills and with underdeveloped perimeter game. I think 15/9 is the best this guy could do with the skillset he currently has and he probably won't do it because of his weak mentality.

So true. People should stop with those high expectations. Us laker fans are praying God does something and Kwame will suddenly average 10/10.

Kwame is not a good shotblocker, but he is so strong that he can deny you position downlow. That is his strength and that is where he should concentrate. Phil wants Kwame to play like Rodman and do the little things. Kwame can box out anyone in the league when he wants to and he can hold his position against anyone even Shaq.
