Wow, this is a first.

For me: Michael Jordan.

Tue Oct 25, 2005 6:04 am

No need to make a link for this mann. Everyone will vote Jordan besides Fitzy and his damn Ron Mercer.

Oh man!! What an original topic, I mean, has this ever been discussed here before?

*insert joke about bench warmer being GOAT here*

:D I felt this one was coming.

1) The bald guy in that "Space Jam" flick.
2)Bill Russel (Can't argue with 11 titles, can you?)
3)Kareem ( breaking records and winning titles until he was 41)
4)Larry Bird ( ... )
5)Shaq\Wilt, Wilt|\Shaq, ( Shaq won more - I know Jackal, using titles as an argument sucks monkey balls - and is more of a team player than wilt ever was, but dam! Who could stop Wilt, anyway? )

6) Green Running Machine :P (best sixth man ever) (Y)

Who could stop Wilt, anyway

No one, because he was bigger & stronger than everyone. :P

If I'm thinking "player" as in individual talent where stats play a contributing factor, but skills make up the most, I'd go with this:

1) Michael Jordan
2) Larry Bird
3) Wilt Chamberlain
4) Oscar Robertson
5) Hakeem Olajuwon

Honorable mentions: Magic Johnson, Julius Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Charles Barkley

Are you guys serious? Jordan might have been a GREAT player, but Russell took 11 championships in 13 YEARS!!! Dont get me wrong, Jordan is GREAT, but Russell is better.

STATS dont mean everything.

Tue Oct 25, 2005 10:47 am

And championships arent everything either. Luc Longley has 3 rings, which is more than ewing, malone, stockton and Olajuwon combined.

Tue Oct 25, 2005 10:58 am

Magic Johnson

find yourself a noose and go hang yourself.

they aren't everything but when you are comparing the elite players of all time, it's plays a big factor in determining who's better then who

Tue Oct 25, 2005 11:25 am

Larry Bird, i just find it amazing, a non athletic white guy can do such things..
Oscar Robertson, triple doubles
Wilt Chamberlain, hmm 50ppg, 20rpg season?
Bill Russell, ya like 20+ rebound seasons are great
Michael Jordan, he can't be stopped

celtics had hall of famers coming off the bench. that's how deep they were.

1. Michael Jordan[ability to do so much in a era dominated by big men..]
2. Magic Johnson [one could only imagine what he woulda done without hiv]
3. Bill Russel ( block freak, rebound freak, ring freak)
4. Wilt Chamberlain ( 50ppg, 100 in a game, just a shaq thats unstopable at all)
5. Larry Bird ( him and magic is a classic plus his genes wasn't made for basketball!)
