Sprewell to the Lakers

Postby Anthony15 on Mon Sep 12, 2005 11:13 am

St. Paul Pioneer Press - Now it looks as if the Los Angeles Lakers will be the new home of Timberwolves free agent Latrell Sprewell, writes Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Walters doesn't divulge any terms or an indication that a league source informed him of an agreement, but popular deduction leads most to believe that Sprewell's last option has indeed been the Lakers.

Wow...nice move by the Lakers, but where did they find the money to sign him?

Let's not skip to conclusions yet. This can be just a writer for Minnesota making some stuff up. It'sl believable but let's just get some sources like from ESPN or something.

nice move by the Lakers,

Not really, I dont see where he fits here at all...

1. He cant play PG
2. Shooting guards playing behind Kobe Get No PT (Kareem Rush)
3. Hes gonna want Shots and he wont get em..

I have no idea what position he'll play if Phil is gonna run this team like hi chicago teams then Odom will play alot and so will Kobe, where does Spree fit? Unless he magically learned to play PG (He cant) Than this is a stupid signing but i guess its the only team that wanted Spree.

^^ I agree with Rip32
I dont see how he will contribute to this team as much as you guys think. It will ruin the Lakers chemistry, then again they never had chemistry last year.

i don't think it really matters who plays the PG if they run the triangle.. if you look back at the 95-98 bulls, harper played the point guard slot however he didn't even bring the ball upcourt most of the time.. it was mostly michael or scottie running the offense. it's gonna be the same thing here, you're gonna have odom and kobe running the offense. as well, it's also no big secret that phil likes big guards ( back to harper ) .. so this just mighttttt work out for both parties.

Of course, he has the ball in his hands.
If this is true, then when do you guys think Spree will start bitching about shots?

I'm sorry, I did not get your post. What do you mean by "mad ball hog ability" being one of the main elements in a PG? :|

I won't believe this until I see it confirmed on NBA or ESPN.com

He's signed with the Nuggets, Pistons, and Lakers already this season.

Not really. They got a younger version of Sprewell in the draft with Rashad McCants.

RealGM just posts articles from other sources, their's not many things that are actually direct. It's kinda like what Hoopshype does, a word on the street kinda thing.

IMO, kobe can play the pg position but it is not avisable. he will bring the ball down then shoot it him self. though he can score, there will be no play whatsoever..
