find the sentence where i wrote garnett sucks and quote it.
overrated? yeah. doesnt mean he still cant be a good player, but when people put him above duncan thats just ridiculous. shaq would be above him if shaq were in his prime.... i assumed he meant top 10 players
right now, if your asking me over a career, of course shaq kicks garnetts ass. i would never put kobe above him right now or career wise because one: career wise garnett has 1 reg season mvp which fulfills one of my criteria for a great player (
1 reg seas mvp, 1 finals mvp), while kobe fulfills none. winning a championship alone isnt enough, and i never said it was, you have to be the focal (at least when comparing
star players). i put kg at #2 right now, even though he didnt make the playoffs, because i personally think he's that good. maybe im bias. o well.
i dont think you need a championship to be a GOOD player, i think you need a championship (and a finals mvp and reg season mvp) to be considered a
GREAT player. maybe our definitions are different, but i dont consider just any schmuck great.
why do i put lebron and mcgrady and amare above iverson (a former reg season mvp)? because iverson is just that, a FORMER reg season mvp. if you ask me over a career i would put iverson at 4 on my list. even though bron didnt make the playoffs, i have lebron at 3 because of personal evaluation of his talent. sue me. does it stray from my belief that great players make the playoffs and win? no, because i only consider two current players great (over a career) in the nba today, right now: duncan and shaq. does it stray from my belief that a GOOD player should get his team into the playoffs?
yes, but i still put him there, and i will make no lame excuses for his teammates. sue me, its my opinion, get over it. next year i think he'll contest for #2.
so.... over a career who are still playing here are my top 10. but if your asking me right now i stick with my original list.
1. duncan
2. shaq
3. garnett
4. iverson
5. kobe
6. mcgrady
7. jason kidd
9. ray allen
10. nowitzki
why isnt steve nash or chauncy billups there? because i dont want them to be. neither are 'great' without the second mvp, and so are debatable, they're both still 'good', but so are a lot of players who i think are 'gooder'
you havent learned have you? just because i criticize a player doesnt mean i dont think he's
good.... i just dont think he's good as
you think he is. stop getting so flustered that garnett isnt perfect, i still think he's a good player with a chance of proving himself great.... he just hasnt yet. sorry.
