**Michael Finley Chooses Spurs?**

well you expected it to happen with all the reports now the big question is which team will he choose to provide his services for. Spurs, Heat, & Pistons are the top contenders who have money to toss at him or will he go for more oney elsewhere?

I'm curious because I'm looking out for the Spurs and I think he'll fit well there provided he doesn't hold any resentment towards Bruce Bowen from last season. We'll see soon I bet. He's going to be a steal for any contending team. Your thoughts?

The Nuggets will offer him enough money. They need a good player at his position and they'll try to get him. I think they'll offer him a multi-year contract with about 6 million for each year.

The Spurs have a good chance of getting him too, but they already have a good player on his position - Ginobili. I don't think that Finley would like to sit on the bench, neither would Ginobili.

The Heat won't sign him, cuz they're already way over the cap. Besides they have Wade on his position and again Finley wouldn't want to sit on the bench. Don't they already have a great starting line-up?

Same story with Pistons R.I.P. and Finley at one position. No way neither of them would sit on the bench.

The Suns are the top teams that wants to get him. Since Johnson is almost a Hawk they need a spot at SG. Overall I think that the Suns and the Nuggets have better chances of getting Finley than Heat or Spurs.

I would think he would take less money to play for a championship contender in Detroit. He could come in the game and score 14-16 ppg and he would give Tay a bigtime relief cuz Tay was as good as any 3 in the league in April & May but the monster playoff minutes came and he was overwhelmed.

Denver would still be 4-5 best team in the west with him. If he was with the Spurs i think he would end up like Glenn Robinson last year, playing sparingly Ginobili is better in every way and with Bowen's D they cant have him off the floor for long. The Suns have a good chance at getting him too tho, seeing as he's played there before and he would love to play with Nashy again.

If I were Finley I wouldnt consider Detroit, he wont get the playing time he deserves and may disappear.

San Antonio has Barry/Ginobili, Finley may find a home at SF with the Spurs, could definately start at that position.

Denver makes sense he'd be the starting SG and be a big time contributor and mentor to Melo, but hes gotta be sold on the Nuggets program and really believe that "this is their year."

Miami would be a "gimmi a ring" choice and I don't think finley would go for it, besides, hed rather dunk on Shaq than pass him the ball all day.

Phoenix will get him if he has fond memories of the club, hes needed there and would be a better fit than QRich was IMO.

My guess is San Antonio or Phoenix.

I would say for the Ring in Phoenix and play out his career in Chicago... He has ties to those directions and I believe he is quite happy with his overall career and would just like to participate and be a productive member in the squad...

I'm not sure if Chicago would want him though... They have numerous young guys at the 1, 2 and 3 slots so I don't think they'd want to hold their young guys back by bringing in Finley to play 35 minutes a game...

I think Nash and the opportunity to play with one of the most exciting players in the game (Amare) in Phoenix will get Finley to Phoenix. To add to that, he would be going to a team that made the Western Conference Finals last season, so they are contenders. And the money would still be good as he will get a truckload from Dallas anyway... He's getting like 15 million for next season from Dallas, so I don't think it matters too much to him if he gets 1,5 million or 3 million or even the whole 5 million for next season. And he has history with the club too...

I'd be happy if he goes to San Antonio. I've always liked this guy and he'd fit right in the 3 spot.

my guess PHX but he's welcome in Detroit! He'd fit in perfectly with the team and he'd get his 30mpg.

My guess is that if he went to the Bulls he wouldn't be starting or taking too many minutes away from Gordon, Deng or Nocioni, rather he'd be a veteran insurance policy...though depending on whether Gordon is ready to start it wouldn't surprise me to see Finley get the starting nod ahead of him at least for a while...but Gordon would be finishing the games and playing heavier minutes than last year.

But I think the Chris Duhon situation has all but eliminated the Bulls from the running, sadly. If I had to make a guess now, I'd say Finley will end up in Phoenix.

Agreed, but I don't think the Bulls would want to sacrifice Gordon's development to give him minutes should they bring Finley aboard. I still think he'd be seeing decent minutes and possibly even starting some of the time depending on how Skiles wants to use Gordon this year, but he wouldn't have the same role he's enjoyed in Dallas.

Possibly, if Finley came to S.A. I could see him having a role as playing loads of minutes in 4th quarter sitautions. Having Finley, Ginobili and Barry/Parker(it happened against a great defensive team like Detroit so it could happen) on the floor late in the game with Duncan and Horry would be great, you don't lose much defensively by having Bowen on the bench, you gain another free throw shooter(Lord knows), another scoring threat. Thing is does he want to play for a title, come off and come off the bench with reduced minutes, though I'm not totally convince his minutes would be that reduced atleast when compared to the other Spurs players on the team that is. The more I think about it the more I want the guy there.

Finley will land in Phoenix as long as they want him, hes got Steve Nash over there and why not return to where it all started to have a shot at the title. Hes got the small forward spot or shooting guard spot open and he'll probably get a pretty decent role and the best shot at winning the title.

If he doesnt land in Phoenix it might be SanAn that get him but I think Denver is the option below right now cause I think hes mostly after a title and in SanAn he can get the small forward spot or the 6th man role easily.

When did Michael Finley and Antonio McDyess become buddies?
Getting drafted into the league the same year doesnt make people buddies specially when they've never played on the same team on any level or share same birthcity's or family connections.

They both played for Phoenix at some point in their careers, but I'm not too sure if they ever played alongside each other.

I hope he will be signed in Miami.
But I hope it won't cause a mess in the team.
Well... We'll see...

I've thought all along that he'd be signing with the Suns. They originally drafted him, he's friends with the MVP Steve Nash, and they need a SG.

Well yes that's true.
I said "I Hope" I didn't say I'm sure he will play in Heat.
Actually Suns have the best chance to sign him.

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if he made the move back to Phoenix where he played earlier on in his career.
Preparation will only take you so far. After that you've got to take a few leaps of faith.

it's Miami, Detriot or Phoenix
Phoenix has the edge since he can still be useful and produce. Not to mention a championship contender.

Detriot also has a good squad and could use a shooter like him.

But Phoenix seems to be the best fit cause weather wise, its similar to dallas with the heat stuff. SA would be good too, but they a little loaded and i think he wants to play

He'd beat all the current (SPURS) perimeter players coming off the bench, including Brent Barry, just because he gives you the shooting or Barry but much improved defense and I would doubt he'd struggle as Barry did. That being said, I pick Phoenix because he'd probably start or atleast see far more playing time there than any other team except Denver.

i doubt he will go to Miami.....if he did he'd be 6th or 7th man.

if he goes to Detroit he'll get plenty of PT off the bench backing RIP & Tay

if he goes to PHX, which is most likely, he'll probably start.....going to PHX is probably the best move as far as competition goes. It'd give SAS a legit contender.

EDIT: heard Spree might be coming to Detroit...dont know what to say about this. He can play ball but he's a potential cancer in the locker room, and we already have Sheed.
