Who's the smallest player that can dunk?

Tue Dec 31, 2002 5:31 am

I remember Spud Webb, he was like 1 metres en 70 centimetres?......... that was unblelievuble to see him dunk the b-ball like he did, with 360s and stuff. But who's the smallest b-ball player at the moment that can dunk? Stephon Marbury? or are there some smaller players that can dunk?

Tue Dec 31, 2002 5:59 am

allen iverson is the shortest that i now of that can dunk at the moment

Tue Dec 31, 2002 6:45 am

I've seen Shammond Williams throw it down.

Tue Dec 31, 2002 7:42 am

maybe bobby jackson

Jackson is listed at 6-foot-1, but he would need to stand on a phone book to reach 6 feet without shoes on.

Sacramento's shortest player is an accomplished dunker

Tue Dec 31, 2002 11:52 am

Speedy Claxton

seen him do it in college and in a game last year for the sixers.

Tue Dec 31, 2002 1:01 pm

Yeah I'd say speedy Claxton at about 5'10 is the shortest right now.

Tue Dec 31, 2002 4:20 pm

Definitely Earl Boykins at 5'6

thats almost impossible... he has to jump almost his own hight to slam the basketball..

Wed Jan 01, 2003 5:53 am

didnt mugsy bogues once grab onto the net and lift himself upto dunk???
im sure this happened

Wed Jan 01, 2003 8:51 am

he'd have to jump his own height? lol. umm, no!

let's see.. 5'6... say, his reach is 7' (that's waht mine was at that height).
so he needs like a 40" vertical to actually dunk.. quite possible for an NBA player!

when i was 5'7 i could touch rim... and then i stopped working out my legs.. if i kept going, i would have dunked probably.

so very possible actually...

Antonio McDyess has a 48" vertical. why can't Boykins have 40"? he's fraekin buff! lol

Wed Jan 01, 2003 11:43 pm

well earl boykins cant dunk!
never seen him do it... means or he cant or he doesn't want to...
I just bet he cant.

Thu Jan 02, 2003 3:48 am

Earl Boykins is 5'5 to be exact, and ive seen him dunk you stupid fuck...Spudd Webb did his first dunk in high school when he was 4'11 (I have his biography and the nba exciclopedia) Muggsy Bogues can infact dunk, as seen in the exiclopedia, and ive seen him dunk in toronto during half time. Darrel Armstrong, AI, Starbury, other short people who can dunk

Thu Jan 02, 2003 3:59 am

you guys are naming the "shortest players" you man man. isn't this for the shortest player that can dunk. i bet you guys don't even know if they can dunk or not. earl boykins cannot dunk. and spudd webb dunked in highschool, not the nba. the nba rims are higher than highschool. didn't you know that?

Thu Jan 02, 2003 4:19 am

NBA rims are higher than high school? Since when?

Ha HA  , Maybe at the shools for the "special" kids but not anywhere else, all hoops in highscool are 10 FT.

And I would be surprised that anyone over 6'0" in the NBA can not dunk. I'm 5'8" and not the greatest athlete and can get to about 2 inches short of the rim, since NBA players are world class athletes when it comes to jumping (especially guards and small forwards) I would expect that 99% of the NBA can dunk. You may only see 80% of the players dunk since it may be easier and less tireing for the guys that are samller to lay it up and in the game 2pts is all that counts.

even if u actually seen him its not a proof to me... and btw what age are u 10? we dont swear here!
stupid= lacking the ability to learn quickly.
I aint living in an english speaking country and I know you misspelled
the word "encyclopedia" and wrote it "exiclopedia" ... twice, well maybe its a word which I dont know of and then will you care to enlighten me?

thats not the truth... and its not the first time you say something stupid.
better think b4 you come out with another lame comment..
actually spud webb won a nba dunk contest in some year in the 80's cant remember which, even though I didn't see him dunk in regular nba games (and I believe he did) because I didn't see nba games he played, I just didnt...

Thu Jan 02, 2003 8:41 am

in the '86
and yes, he did dunk in a regular game

Yeah Spud dunked in regular NBA games...

I've got a video called "Super Slams Of The NBA" (the video is probably about 10 years old) and it has a short segment on small guys who dunk. They featured Spud Webb, Isiah Thomas, Doc Rivers, and Kevin Johnson (see my avatar to see KJ dunking on Olajuwon :D) and showed clips of all these guys dunking in NBA games...

This message is fo all ya out there that talk to much shit.
Now check it.

Me, I am 5'6'' and I slam it down like nothin.
I can do a dunk because of the training program that I am havin right now.
6 months ago I could almost touch the rim, but now after the trainin an all that, I can dunk.
My best dunk yet was the reverse dunk.
I am still practicing.
My actuall point is, that most NBA players can dunk it.
They get proffesional trainors and can learn faster.
If I could do it by my own training, NBA players can do it even faster and better with professional trainers.

Same here

Fri Jan 03, 2003 1:44 pm

I am 5'8" and I could Dunk a few years ago before I let the beer take effect. Still in Shape, but Haven't worked out the legs, I can still grap the rim though. And yes Spud did Dunk in the NBA, but..... I haven't seen Boykins dunk, and don't think he can.

what

Fri Jan 03, 2003 4:11 pm

what the hell you mean Spud Webb dunked in high school but not the nba. the was in the damn dunk contest. ill send you a video to prove it if you want

Fri Jan 03, 2003 4:13 pm

and im not sure if anyone who's 4'11" could dunk..

4'11", meaning their reach is ilke 6'5".. that's like 40" they'd have to jump just to TOUCH rim, more like 46" to dunk.. not only that, while in HS he simply wasn't developed enough to have that big of a vertical i think.

Sun Jan 05, 2003 1:02 am

I aint believing that spud couldeve dunked in high school.... theres no way maybe you are mistaken with his height, well I can dunk too but well I'm 6'2 thats not a big problem for me :P
