Samuel Dalembert to the Hawks?

Tue Jul 19, 2005 12:25 pm

According to Insider, Billy King and Dalembert are millions a part on a deal, and the line King drew is reportedly millions away from the max. Dalembert has a visit with the Hawks scheduled on July 25th, if he signs an offer sheet for the Hawks the Sixers will have seven days to match the offer. According to Billy King, Dalembert will be back as a Sixer no matter what, Dalembert's agent Marc Cornstein isn't so sure of that.

I was okay with the big contract for Sammy at first, but then seeing Stro and SAR head to teams for WAY less made me change my mind. I don't wanna lose him to the Hawks but I don't wanna pay him the max, we'll see what happens.

Well, we sure as hell aren't going to give him the max, and if the Hawks do I will laugh my ass off. If we do give him max, I'm officially going to find a new team to route for.

I hope the Hawks go after Curry...I want Sammy to stay...(not with a 10 mil/year contract, but for less)

"Millions apart on a deal"? The current offer is ridiculous as it is. The only good thing about the Hawks offering even more is they'd be finally chasing someone that isn't a swingman. Dalembert's turning into a good centre and his game has got a lot of potential for further growth but you don't overpay potential.

His current offer is ridiculous, but I think he will be better off at the Hawks..

Perhaps they want to play him at SF (Y). Bad joke aside, he does fit into Hawks plans - he's a long, phenomenal athlete.

Looks like centers nowadays are paaid a million per inch... :(

Obviously we all want him to stay but not make so much money.

Well, either way he's already garunteed that huge contract we offered him (whatever the actual figures were), so taking him for less money isn't an option. It's just a question of whether we will have to bid him MORE to keep up with the Hawks.
