Howard is more about raw athleticism. If the reports are true and he does grow to 7' 1", he'll be one of the most athletic Centers in the NBA second to Amare (who is arguably a PF, not C).

Are his actual post skills refined? I'd say no...but Garnett does pretty well having never really defined his either, ditto David Robinson.

The question is whether or not he'll continue to show as much improvement, is he capped or is he like LeBron, the rookie year is only the beginning.

It's not about how good he is right now, it's about how good he can become. The guy is straight out of high school and not yet 20, yet he's #8 in RPG, #19 in BPG, #10 in FG%, and #12 in double-doubles. Those numbers aren't that far behind ROTY Okafor, who's over 3 years older (and played on a crappier team).

He's so high in the list of untradables because when you've got a guy who's done that much that early, and is still growing, you'd be mad to not take a punt he'll keep developing and getting better at scoring in the next couple of years.

actually it was the lakers own fault for not getting enough in return for shaq. they had a rather sweet deal set up with dallas but did not want to leave shaq in the west so they took what they could get from out east.
