Saras is a guy the Pacers are pursuing very strongly. He has displayed interest in joining the NBA and playing for a title contender.

This guy can play!!!!!

Larry Legend seems to be pretty confident we can sign him. I'm excited.

Is this the guy the Bulls were pursuing last off-season? 6'4" SG? If it is, I watched him in the Olympics and the guy is a wonderful sharpshooter. He can really shoot the rock. But the mixtape shows great passing.

Wow...no wonder the NBA is interested...and Larry Brown said this guy could never play in the NBA?! And Mr "Big Shot 3 for 8 in game 7" Billups can?

Didn't he spank the US team in the Olympics as well?

Can't wait til he plays here.

Yes he did. Got the 4 point play which signalled the turning point of the match. He's a great prospect although he isn't athletic enough to fit in the NBA, theres always room for his shooting touch.

Looks like he's got great court vision and ballhandling skills. It didn't offer a great look at his scoring or defensive abilities though, but I understand he is a deadly shooter. I'm not certain he could dominate in the NBA, especially not straight away, but he could probably be a good backup in his first season. I'd agree he'd be a good acquisition for Indiana.

I saw him in the thursday's Game Of The Legends, here in Slovenia (Divac, Kukoc, Jasikevicius, Zdovc, Radja,...). This guy is one of the best European PGs EVER and has court vision and passing skill which are completely comparable with those of Jason Kidd. Plus, he is tremendous shooter. Some say that he's unathletic and slow, but it's just one of those stereotypes (he's white AND European), IMHO.

Shit man this guys got some sweet court vision. Reminds me of a fatter Jason Williams. I'd love to see him in the NBA. Lets just hope Bill Walton can pronounce his name without laughing.

How do you pronounce his name? Is it "Jas - sik - ka - vicious" or is it some other way?

My guess is he'll sign with the Cavs, especially if Z stays put. With Lanky-A also there, he'll feel like he's in Kaunas again...

Funny how all you Americans now discovered Sarunas...

Not to discredit this guy, my friend's been drooling over him and there's no doubt he's pretty good. But, you look at every time he passed the ball to somebody, and there's atrocious defense. Especially towards the end, he passes to a guy who then dribbles down the lane between 2 people who just watch him, and the guy at the end can't do anything and gets dunked on. In the NBA that wouldn't happen, one of those 2 guys would problably either foul him or just reach in a little and make his life difficult, or there'd be a 7 footer waiting to block the guy when he comes in. But maybe he'll prove me wrong in the NBA.

I am enjoying the fact that Americans and Europeans are trying to pronounce his name, while a European/Serbian has already given th emost accurate pronounciacion.

The only one who can really enlighten us is A.G., who is in Lithuania.

Article in the Jerusalem Post:

Although far from shy, Jasikevicius had little to say, except that he corrected the pronunciation of his name to "yesis-KAV-ichus", and added "I'm here to help the team win."

So, that's it! :P

I find it funny how you discovered him just now too. He's been like the best European player (besides Bodiroga) for the past 4 years.. He began to impress with his court vision in Union Olimpija here in Slovenia. Then he got traded to Barcelona and now he's in Maccabi. He's a very smart player and i only wish that he'd really get a chance in NBA. To play at least 20min per game. He's like Jason Kidd with shooting of Ray Allen :) And i'd like to see him in Indy too :D

Despite teh fact that to most people on this board. he plays on the opposite side of the world doesn't make a difference?

But I watched him play during the olympics, he was dominating.

I didn't just discover him. I watched him play in Maryland before he even went to Europe. I only made this thread since he is thinking of coming to the NBA.
