Steal of the Draft?

Postby AlwaysWhat,NeverWhy on Wed Jun 29, 2005 11:18 pm

So, who do you think it is?

I'm going with Green at Boston... Ainge didn't even scout the kid, noe expecting to fall that far, but still took a cahnce and drafted him. Fits perfectly with the youth movement Boston is practicing in the past 2 years.

Voted for Green, but I'd say Warrik's a close second.

The steal of the draft goes to BOSTON for sure. They drafted Gerald Green with the 19th and draft Ryan Gomes at 50th ! What steals in the draft.

I have to agree with CB4 on this one. For the second year in a row, Danny Ainge did a VERY good job at the draft.

I think Granger was the steal for us. Because we had a choice of Warrick, Granger or Green. Larry Bird made a fantastic decision in choosing Granger because he is the one who is going to be the best NEXT SEASON. We don't really have time to wait on a guy like Green, but Granger is NBA ready. Ive said it numerous times already, I'm thrilled.

Somehow, and don't ask me how, my clairvoyant skills told me that you would say that...

If I were you, I'd go with Green. The Pacers lack a franchise guy with Reggie gone, and Green was the best bet to get one for the future. To each his own , I guess... Although you DO understand that this could mean the end of Ronnie's tenure in Indianapolis, don't you? If you get a good PF/C in exchange for him, then picking Granger will indeed prove to be the better choice... (Y)

Couldn't Artest just slide into SG spot? That would be a powerfull defensive duo - Artest&Granger. Jackson and that other 6'8'' guy would provide outside shooting off the bench and Jones would give you explosivness.

Probably to begin the season Granger will sit and Jackson will start.

He's not really fit for the SG role... offensively. On defense, he can take almost any SG/SF/PF there is... except maybe TD.

I think that if Artest stays, Granger will come off the bench.

NATE ROBINSON! He's incredible- if he was 6'2", he would have been one of the very first picks in the draft. I think the Suns should have kept him, he would have been dynamite in that run & gun offense. But the Knicks will be very glad to have him.

Gerald Green is the most obvious sleeper, though. I saw him in the McDonald's game and in the dunk contest- he looks like Tracy McGrady in every aspect, even their jumpers look the same...

I give it to Gerald Green as well. I really think he could go places in the NBA, and Boston getting him at 19 is incredible.

I dunno if you can call just barely missing the lottery a "steal" unless the kid turns into MJ. Josh Smith was also just out of the lottery.

IMHO a steal is Ginobli with the 2nd to last pick of the 2nd round.

I'm guessing Wayne Simien (sp?) will be a steal for Miami.

Well, Paul Pierce went 10th on the Celts' lap, and he is still considered a (minor) steal to this day...

Chris Taft big time. Not because he's the best player, but cuz we got a guy who was supposed to be a top 5 pick last year at #42

Was he? I forget what he was like last year, but this year he wouldn't have meritted(sp) that at all. I think that was a pretty normal pick.
