Your teams draft outcome ...

Mon Jun 27, 2005 3:44 pm

Well with the draft happening soon, this is how i wish it will turn out for my favorite team...

*I already posted this in the "Chris Bosh" thread.

1.With the 7th pick in the 2005 NBA draft, the Toronto Raptors select ... Danny Granger from New Mexico.
2.This just in. The Toronto Raptors have sent their 16th pick and Eric Williams to New Orleans Hornets for Jamaal Magloire.
3.With the 41th pick in the 2005 NBA draft, the Toronto Raptors select ... Daniel Ewing from Duke.
4.With the 58th pick in the 2005 NBA draft, the Toronto Raptors select ... Tiras Wade from Louisiana-Lafayette.

Projected Line-up

C : Magloire - Araujo - Sow - Woods
PF: Bosh - Bonner - Mahinmi - Williams
SF: Rose - Granger - Murray
SG: Peterson - Wade - Williams
PG: Alston - Ewing - Cook

They will be probably cutting someone from this roster too like Woods, Murray or Aaron Williams.

Did it actually happen or is it something you wish would happen?

Wished it would happen

They are talking about giving their 7th and 16th picks to New Orleans for Magloire.
I think thats silly....for the raptors.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 4:10 pm

Unlikely... maybe 7th pick and Alston would land you Magloire...

Okay, here's my Warriors' wishful thinking:

1. The Warriors trade their 9th pick along with Mike Dunleavy and Nikoloz Tskitishvilli to New Orleans for Jamal Magloire and the Hornets' 33rd pick.
2.With the 33rd overall pick, Golden State selects Nate Robinson from Washington.
3.With the 40th pick in the 2005 NBA draft, the Warriors select ... Linas Kleiza from Missouri
4.With the 42nd pick in the 2005 NBA draft, the Warriors select ... Mile Ilic from Serbia and Montenegro.

Projected Line-up

C : Magloire - Foyle - Biedrins
PF: Nurphy - Biedrins - Cabarkapa
SF: Pietrus - Cabarkapa - White
SG: Richardson - Pietrus - Fisher
PG: Davis - Fisher - Robinson

 Playoffs, here we come

Mon Jun 27, 2005 4:17 pm

Nice job, team looks pretty solid. Hopefully they will re-sign Murphy. Do you think Nate Robinson will be a 3rd string PG ? Maybe a 2nd string but not third. It's kinda a waste of talent if you ask me. I would like the Raptors to pick him but wouldnt fall to us there.

Hey if the Hornets traded Baron Davis for Speedy Claxton and Dale Davis, they'll surely accept 16th pick and Williams for Magloire.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 4:20 pm

Yes, but just checked... That trade cannot go through because of Jamaal's big salary... GS will have to add Fisher or the MLE to the deal... which is still fine by me...
Maybe the Hornets can add the Birdman to sweeten the deal...

Nate will probably be a sparkplug off the bench... and when Fisher covers at 2, he'll be the point... but he'll mostly be used as someone who provided energy as a substitute...

EDIT: Oh, and Murphy is signed for 6 more years... for 58 million!!!

And the BD trade was due to slary cap reasons... which is one thing the Hornetshave inabundance right now...

Mon Jun 27, 2005 4:48 pm

Birdman's a Free Agent. If we can't get a Centre in this years draft maybe we can pick him up. He'll be a fan favorite for sure.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 4:51 pm

Timberwolves:

1. With the 14th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select: Joey Graham from OSU
2. With the 47th pick ni the 2005 NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select: Alan Anderson from MSU

Lineup after draft:

C-Michael Olowokandi/Mark Madsen (resign)
PF-Kevin Garnett/Eddie Griffin (resign)
SF-Wally Szczerbiak/Joey Graham
SG-Trenton Hassell/???
PG-Sam Cassell/Troy Hudson

Mon Jun 27, 2005 4:53 pm

Alan Anderson will be behind Hassell.

Another thing, you don't wanna resign Sprewell ?

Mon Jun 27, 2005 5:03 pm

sprewell is asking for a lot of money, and like walker for boston, has not done much for the team to deserve such a salary. unless sprewell lowers his asking price i don't think the wolves will resign him IMO.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 5:27 pm

Okay, what i heard from Cavs insiders ( )

-The cavs sign-and-trade Ilgauskas/Luke Jackson/Aleksandar Pavlovic to Seattle for Ray Allen/Danny Fortson who they signed.
-Sign Eddy Curry.
-Re-sign Jeff McInnis.
-Trade Newble/Snow for Bonzi Wells/Earl Watson
-Sign Donyell Marshall and James Jones
-Make an extension to LeBrons contract for another 5 years 28mil per year.

Projected Line-up

C : Curry - Varejao - Fortson
PF: Gooden - Marshall
SF: LeBron - Jones
SG: Allen - Wells - Wagner
PG: McInnis - Watson

Its all possible......

Mon Jun 27, 2005 5:59 pm

Make an extension to LeBrons contract for another 5 years 28mil per year.

can they do that? i thought the players and owners had a new agreement the last time they had the lockout where the maximum pay got cut down?? maybe i'm mistaken

Mon Jun 27, 2005 6:35 pm

If I'm right, the max for a 4th year player (which LeBron will be at extension time) is $10,968,000

http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#9

So here it is!
ENJOY!

Maximum raise got cut down, but not maximum pay per year (which should've increased...) I believe.....

Mon Jun 27, 2005 6:37 pm

Well watever it is, i just made that number up

Mon Jun 27, 2005 7:02 pm

Since the Bulls have no draft picks and I don't expect them to break up their core group just yet without good cause, I'm anticipating a quiet draft for them.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 7:19 pm

hmmm....

Seems the bulls might be concerned about Curry's long term health which could prompt a trade into the draft.... maybe.... if they can get a center to replace him..... Maybe Isiah Thomas will recindle his interest in Curry and give up the 8th pick which could land Chicago Channing Frye?

Just a thought....

and being a Hornets fan i really think its a BAD idea to give up Maglioore for Toronto's picks... they'll prolly get Granger/Vasquez, could go for Frye themselves, then grab like Villaneuva or Taft (whoever slips) with the 17th.... but its a bad move!

PS

With the 4th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, the New Orleans Hornets select..... CHRIS PAUL of Wake Forest!!!!!!

And the dynasty begins!

Possibly, though the latest word is that Curry's health should allow him to play again.

No sane person would do that.

With the 10th pick I'd like the Lakers to select Jarrett Jack
With the 37th pick I'd like the Lakers to select Ronny Turiaf or Lucas Tisher
With the 39th pick I'd like the Lakers to select Jason Maxiell

But we'll see... if they take a forward with the #10 pick replace Tisher/Turiaf with John Gilchrist. He'd be a risk but the reward would be worth it if it works out.

The Pacers have far too much depth for our second round pick to make the team, but the guy picked at 17 will make the team as long as moves are made.

I would like to see Rashad McCants or Francisco Garcia at 17, or I would like to see us try to move down.

My ideal scenario would be trading Fred Jones, Austin Croshere and the 17th pick for Damon Jones and the 29th pick, but I seriously do not see that going through, and I'm sure Its a lunatic pipe dream.

With all the rumors flying around like "The Pacers have already made the trade for Ray Allen, they are just waiting for draft day to pull it off" and the bender to the Lakers trade, it wouldn't surprsie me if a move was made, but I see Larry and Donnie having a pretty silent draft, and just picking at 17 and 46 and possibly getting a steal at 46.

Tue Jun 28, 2005 3:38 am

With the 26th pick I'd like the Pistons to select Julius Hodge or Ike Diogu
With the 56th pick I'd like the Pistons to select John Gilchrist
With the 60th pick I'd like the Pistons to select Eddie Basden

I think the Pacers give too much in this scenario... plus D-Jones has to sign first and then get traded. With his current salary, this deal would not go down, there would have to be some saraly ballast added from the Heat to make it work. But it's not a good deal for Indiana anyway, I think...

If I were you, I'd try to trade up and get Martell Webster... I smell a new Reggie...

Tue Jun 28, 2005 5:02 am

The reason I like the deal is because Damon is an excellent 3 point shooter, and we lack a real 3 point threat. Artest, Jackson and Tinsley are more of scorers. I want to unload Austin Croshere because we pay him far too much, and hes good trade bait.

Plus I think this draft is deep enough we can pick a rotation player at 29.

he is , but Shaq offered him half his point sin Miami... So unless JO gets double-teamed like crazy, I think all DJ could do for you is come off the bench and maybe stretch the defense out a bit, which is important, sure. I just would not sacrifice Fred and the 17th for that, especially since there are guys liek Garcia and McCants who might be available at 17, and those fellas can shoot th elights out...

About Croshere, I agree, send him back to Hickory for some highschool ball, it fits his style...

Tue Jun 28, 2005 5:13 am

You are absolutly right about Garcia and McCants, those are the two guys I'm eyeing that I really want.

But despite the success the Pacers always have with the draft, I never trust the draft very much, and I know Damon will come in and knock down some threes for us, which is what we need.
