I think it was most likely AI 2 last year, but who is it this year? Marvin Williams?
Wed Jun 15, 2005 2:57 pm
Absolutley not Marvin Williams. He has the most potential, but hes not the most well rounded. He has a lot of rough edges.
I personally think its Chris Paul. He is going to be such a fantastic PG in the NBA imo.

I guess alot of those late lottery SF's are fairly well rounded. Everyone above that seems to have huge strengths but weaknesses also. Bogut's biggest weakness is that he has Jabba The Hut making up shit about his eyesight.

last year i think it was Okafor.. not iggy
i don't know about this years
Wed Jun 15, 2005 3:21 pm
I think he means well-rounded in the sense of doing many things well and not a specialist at anything...judging by his reference to Iggy...and i suppose he means someone capable of getting a triple double like Iggy.
Probably Deron Williams. He threatened many times to get a triple double even in college. He draws a lot of comparisons to Jason Kidd, who's one of the best triple double guys in history. He doesn't have the hyper energy Kidd has but showed no lack of guts in the NCAA.

I disagree. The most well-rounded in indisputedly Danny Granger. He can handle, pass, shoot, work in the post, defend small and big guys, steal, block and rebound. He is also tall and rather athletic. Now, that's a nice package, isn't it?
Wed Jun 15, 2005 4:21 pm
well iggy isn't that well rounded.. his scoring game is very raw, especially his jump shot. all of his stats come through sheer athleticism
if anyone that fits this description, it was luke jackson or luol deng.

a player this year who has similar talent as iggy is hakeem warrick. Though warrick is gonna be picked late in the first round, certainly not in the top 10. I like his game, i hope the raptors will draft him if they have the chance.

Whaaaat? Warrick is not a good defender, he certainly does not have handles to play PG (or SF) and his passing abilities are also suspect. What exactly makes him a ''all-around' player?

Yupp, Danny Granger is the best rounded player in the draft. He can shoot, defend, slash, and much much more.
Chris Paul is overrated, he is maybe the 2nd or 3rd best PG in the draft. Deron Williams is the best PG in the draft, and Raymond Felton and Jarrett Jack (I love Jack) might be better than Paul. Paul will get punked in the NBA when he tries his little immature stunts.
Thu Jun 16, 2005 3:24 am
Yeah i cant wait to see Chris Paul try to punch Latrell Sprewell in the balls, than Spree will get up and choke the hell outta Paul. But my well rounded player might not be the best but i think he'll be good. Julius Hodge can score rebound pass and play ok defense.

I was only comparing the two players. I didn't say warrick is an all around player. Since everyon was talking about iggy, so i just mentioned it. It is a little off topic though.

I've always been really big on Julius Hodge, good mention
I think he also knows the game better then anyone in the draft.

I was thinking Julius Hodge too, he can play both guard spots and is like 6'6, so he has pretty good size. Maybe he can play some small foward too if he gets a little stronger.

Umm you can't really say why Paul is overrated as what air gordon pointed out
Whenever I saw Paul play, he knew how to take over a team since a being a freshman and he has more room for improvement, but I consider him probably the best PG in teh draft. I saw Jack playing in the tournament and some games during the season and he took alot of shots close to the end of the game that made me wonder why so many people like him. He is pretty good, but I've seen him make MANY mistakes in his games and he turns the ball over too much and his shot isn't as good as Paul's.
Thu Jun 16, 2005 11:19 am
Paul is more of a project, I don't think he is mature enough to lead a college team let alone an NBA team. He is also pretty small, only like 6'0" without shoes on and he's pretty thin.
But the thing that really, really bugs me is his immaturity.

I think you guys are thinking "well-rounded" as polished.
I think the OP is thinking "well-rounded" as in jack of all trades...in this sense a grade-school kid can be well-rounded.
