Spurs won the championship after being one of the worst teams in the previous season. So Atlanta can have this fate as well.

Furthermore, they didn't go from the bottom to the top. They didn't win the title in Duncan's rookie year (1998) - Chicago did.

Bogout is not even in the same zip code as Duncan...c'mon. I remember reading about the rookie class working out with the original dream team and how TD was abusing Shaq and everyone else. GMs were offering their first born to SA for the #1 pick.

Bogout is compared to Vlade Divac, or at best Brad Miller.

If you're going to bag him, at least spell his name properly.

I think Atlanta in a few years will be a force. They have sooooooo much cap space and nice core of young talent. Everything goes in circles.

I think they have a long way to go before they get anywhere near the playoff, however considering how "weak" the East Conference is you never know

The Eastern Conference isn't anywhere near being that weak. For the first time in while an Eastern team missed the playoffs with a .500 record and the conferences were much more balanced than they have been. A few of the middle-of-the-pack teams in the East will have to drop and Atlanta will have to make some incredible deals or greatly overachieve to get to the playoffs in 2006.

Of course, now that I've said that they'll win 50 games next year.

reverting back to the original topic, I've got a feeling it could be skewed by the likes of Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool....and Canterbury Crusaders

Question: who should they draft? Marvin or the Australian kid?

Hawks already have Al Harrington, Josh Smith and Josh Childress so I'd say Andrew Bogut over Marvin Williams....Chris Paul is also an option depending on workouts, but they might have trouble passing on Bogut

i'd go for Marvin myself but it doesnt matter because Hawks are gonna suck eternally.

They should throw back their old school team...Mutombo, Laettner, Smith and Blaylock. Put that team out and i bet attendance would increase, people might actually care about ATL.

I would also want Williams, but why another SF?

Package Smith/Childress/Harrington for something other?
