Looks like it's going to be Christmas for teams needing shooting guards.

Check under Point Guards, Live lists him as a SG which isn't totally accurate.

Stro was restricted last year, West resigned him to a 1 year deal. He's unrestricted now, and judging by his comments to the media, he's gone.

Well I know it was one of them and that West was going to try and match every offer for him so he'll be forced to resign with Memphis so we can trade him. West said during the season that he will match any offer for him and I'm pretty sure Stro would want to take the most money, but Memphis wants to do a sign-and-trade with him.

Picked a few at each position. This early I don't anticipate much movement amongst guys who are key players on their team, but for some players I've listed a few other scenarios.

Centers:

1. Shaquille O'Neal (Player Option) - Miami, perhaps with an extension

2. Eddy Curry (Restricted) - Chicago

3. Zydrunas Ilgauskas - Cleveland

4. Samuel Dalembert (Restricted) - Philadelphia

5. Dan Gadzuric (Restricted) - Milwaukee

6. Jerome James - Difficult to say. Before the season it sounded like Seattle wanted to get rid of him, but perhaps they'll change their mind given the success they've had this season

8. Clifford Robinson (Team Option) - Retirement or elsewhere

9. Steven Hunter (Player Option) - Phoenix

11. Alonzo Mourning - Miami or retirement

13. Dikembe Mutombo - Houston or retirement

Power Forwards:

1. Shareef Abdur-Rahim - Like Jerome James, it's difficult to predict. He wanted out of Portland before the season began, but now I'm not so sure he'll walk. I'm kind of leaning towards him leaving the Blazers though.

2. Antoine Walker - Boston

3. Tyson Chandler (Restricted) - Chicago

4. Stromile Swift - Memphis

5. Keith Van Horn (Player Option) - Dallas...but he'll be traded before the deadline. Again.

6. Udonis Haslem (Restricted/Early Bird Rights) - Miami

7. Donyell Marshall - Chicago or Toronto

9. Danny Fortson (Player Option) - Seattle, unless he has a falling out with McMillan.

10. Kwame Brown (Restricted) - Washington for one more year. Else he's gone.

14. Othella Harrington - Chicago

18. Robert Horry (Player Option) - San Antonio

Small Forwards

1. Grant Hill (Player Option) - Orlando

2. Bobby Simmons - Los Angeles (Clippers)

3. Vladimir Radmanovic (Restricted) - Seattle

4. Kyle Korver (Restricted/Bird Rights) - Philadelphia

5. Bonzi Wells (Team Option) - Gone from Memphis

11. Glenn Robinson - San Antonio if he's ready to accept a lesser role fulltime. Otherwise, maybe Charlotte or another team able to offer him a significant role.

Shooting Guards:

1. Ray Allen - Seattle

2. Michael Redd (Player Option) - Milwaukee or Cleveland

3. Larry Hughes - Washington

4. Joe Johnson (Restricted) - Phoenix

5. Cuttino Mobley (Player Option) - Sacramento/Orlando/Houston

6. Eddie Jones (Player Option) - Miami

7. Bobby Jackson (Team Option) - Sacramento

8. Kerry Kittles - Anyone but the Clippers

9. Latrell Sprewell - Possibly Minnesota, more likely somewhere else

10. Ronald Murray (Restricted) - Maybe Seattle, but he could get more money and a bigger role elsewhere

14. DerMarr Johnson - Denver

Point Guards:

1. Marko Jaric (Restricted) - Los Angeles (Clippers)

3. Antonio Daniels (Player Option) - Seattle

4. Gary Payton - Boston, Seattle or retirement

5. Brevin Knight - Charlotte

6. Earl Watson - Memphis

7. Damon Stoudamire - Portland/New York

8. Jeff McInnis - Cleveland (maybe); can't think of any likely alternatives just yet

9. Chris Duhon (Restricted) - Chicago

10. Damon Jones (Player Option) - Miami

11. Nick Van Exel (Team Option) - Dallas/Portland/Los Angeles (Lakers)/Denver

And for Sprewell, the Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has already said Sprewell will not be back next year.

In that case, I change my prediction to solely "somewhere else". No idea where though, I suppose it depends on how much Spree believes he's worth.

Make that $10 million over a couple of years and it's actually quite reasonable for this point in his career. If this season is anything to go by, his $10+ million per year days are now behind him.

Last i heard Walker will stay in Boston and lower his contract price significantly to do so if necessary. That was before the disintegration vs the Pacers, tho.

Marshall is almost sure to sign elsewhere, as he'll be asking for the MLE.

I believe Delambert is gone, as Philly said they can't afford to spend a large amount on him with Webber's contract, and true Centers with shotblocking are at a premium...just ask Adonal Foyle.

I think Z is out of Cleveland out of his own wishes, i'm sure Cleveland wants to resign him.

One of the bigger questions is Ray Allen...he's the biggest player that is serious about moving teams. It makes sense for both parties...Ray is at a completely different phase in his career than the rest of the team, he's a grizzled veteran but the rest of the team is still in learning mode. It's similar to Scottie Pippen on the Bulls.

Anyone else think Shareef might end up at Dallas?

The Nets are said to be sniffing him out, along with Donyell Marshall. One of them with Nenad will make for a very good starting 5 in East Rutherford... (Y)
