Mon May 09, 2005 9:13 pm

some rules before the games start

http://www.freep.com/sports/pistons/mitch9e_20050509.htm

my prediction stands @ Detroit 4- Indiana 2

Game 1 starts in about 12hrs, CHEAA!!!!! Pistons take game 1.

Mon May 09, 2005 11:33 pm

i hope the pacers will win the series, but i think for the second year in a row the pistons will beat an injury/suspension-plagued and undermanned team :(

Tue May 10, 2005 5:35 am

yep- it's unfortunate that the pacers are injury-riddled and have lost one of the best defenders in the league.. it would make the pistons victory that much sweeter if indiana was fully healthy. i just can't stand the people who say 'they only beat indiana because the pacers are hurt' - detroit deserves more respect than this!

i have to agree with matt here... Detroit in 6 games... then all you Reggie fans can be happy that he can give his final goodbye on his homecourt.

sorry, but that´s just the way it is...

I agree with Lidstrom, but I do acknowledge that the Pistons are championship contenders.

Tue May 10, 2005 6:56 am

Pacers look like they want to win from that game 7 with Boston, but without the "Artest Factor" an injured Jemaine Oneal and inconsistant guard play the Pistons will win in 6 games.

Tue May 10, 2005 9:06 am

Jamall Tinsley is healthier then he has been all season. J-O is 100% now. The only thing missing from the team last year is Ron and Al Harrington, and we are much healthier then we were last year. Stephen Jackson is playing great, as is JT and Dale Davis. We are going to win this series.

So, who wants to call in a bomb threat?

JK JK JK

right....and last season, Pistons won 4-2 WITHOUT home court and the Pacers had RON ARTEST.......and both teams had their injury problems last year.

Not to mention the fact that Detroit wasn't as good last year. I think my 4-2 prediction is rather generous considerin this years circumstances.

Looks like Detroit have won Game 1.....up by 19 points with 5 mins left.

I don't think that's giving Detroit nearly enough credit. Indiana is good enough to beat Detroit and if the Pistons win, it won't be a walkover. The Pacers have all of the players who started most of their games this season and they're all supposed to be in fairly good shape.

Tue May 10, 2005 12:33 pm

Darko's in the game!!!!!!! :P

Tue May 10, 2005 12:43 pm

I have never seen a worse call then the one at the end of the half, with the clock incident. But, Im not going to complain. Put this game behind us, win game 2.

Tue May 10, 2005 12:45 pm

Detroit won. And we have our first and second technical fouls, both on the Pacers.
Series: Detroit 1 - Indiana 0
T's: Detroit 0 - Indiana 2

Tue May 10, 2005 12:53 pm

Hamilton once again was making shot after shot after shot.

The playoff format favours Detroit, games every 2nd day, and Indy just came off a 7 game series.

Well, then there is no reason for the Pacers to lose. Hopefully this time around when the Pistons win the series, the injury bug excuses will not flood these boards ;)

Unfortunately, I missed the entire game tonight.. this is the first Pistons game I haven't at least seen a quarter of in probably over a year. Monday night has too much good TV on :( Glad to see it panned out as I expected though.

Tue May 10, 2005 1:07 pm

JO isn't 100%, I don't think.

Tue May 10, 2005 3:13 pm

well pacers ain't winning more than 2 games this series. Detriot got that ring of insipiration from last year to let the pacers bring it to 7 games

Tue May 10, 2005 5:04 pm

Detroit did a good job of taking Ron Artest out early last year. jk..
They played a teamwork basketball. Everyone has a job to do.

LOOOOOOOL did anyone see when Rip tried to dunk it, it bounced off his head, and got out!!!

And they didn't count the dunk!! It was funny as hell... :P

Thu May 12, 2005 11:45 am

It was funnier when Avery fell on his butt the other day

To clarify, did the ball go into the net, then out of the net after it bounced of his head?

Thu May 12, 2005 12:30 pm

Jeff Foster is a MONSTER! 14 points and 20 boards!  Indiana just stole a game! We have a series! (Y)

Thu May 12, 2005 12:32 pm

ugh... Detroit totally fell apart in the final minutes. Jeff Foster is like this year's Brian Scalabrine vs. the Pistons :| Although, many of his points and rebounds were very simple to get - I mean, he caught Tinsley's airball and had no one within 6 feet of him - that's a simple 2 and 1 right there. Oh well, 14 and 20 is still pretty damn good for a guy like that.

Thu May 12, 2005 12:38 pm

Fabolous win. Now go defend home court.

Thu May 12, 2005 12:57 pm

Let's just hope the Pacers can sweep the rest of this series. I wanna see the look on Snaqs face when his team gets stomped. :P
