25 pts and 18 rebounds + 1 block from Nocioni.. (Y)
30 pts and 2 blocks from Gordon.. (Y)

but ..
Gilbert Arena played very bad.. and it was Larry Hughes who carried the team..
bad luck for Washington.. who was leading after 3 quarters..
then lost in the 4th..

Arenas and Jamison need to play better next game.

Mon Apr 25, 2005 10:52 am

ah a playoff win...after a big 7 years of abscence.......i'm happy for the bulls (Y)

Mon Apr 25, 2005 10:58 am

The Wiz needed better play from Arenas, Jamison did decent in the 2nd half, but the rest of the game he didn't do well. Kwame was also playing really well

Does anyone remember those guys are officially rookies? That makes those numbers even more amazing...

WHAT A GREAT GAME FOR NOCIONI!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy, those 18 rebs are incredible.
Congrats to him. (Y) (Y) (Y)

Nocioni stepped up big time. Nice game from Brown off the bench!

Late game turnovers really didn't help. Arenas had a good passing game, but just couldn't get himself going offensively. Jamison picked it up later in the game, but it wasn't enough to make much difference.

I was really impressed with Kwame, I hope he's fine, he played a great game, and he was killing the Bulls big men with his first step in iso's. It's good that the Wizards were able to stay so close with Arenas being a non-factor in scoring output, and also with Jamison playing bad, it gives hope for game #2.

I expected a loss this game, but the Wizards will come out firing in game 2. Let's hope Kwame is fine.

Impressive win by the bulls. Arenas got completley shut down, but Kwame showed signs and Jamison showed signs of life in the 4th despite a pretty bad game.

I think the Wiz will come out strong in round 2 and get a win.

Unfortunately not, seems like ESPN PR is only showing games on Saturday and Sunday (ie games played on Friday and Saturday) at the moment. Wish I could have seen it live. :( For the moment I'll settle with highlights on SportsCenter.

Awesome return to the playoffs, and an awesome playoff debut for both Gordon and Nocioni. Hinrich's numbers were solid too, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, a block and only one turnover.

Yep, the Bulls have absolutely no chance of advancing. None whatsoever... ;)

LOL at andrew's sarcastic wink
anyways what an awesome return to the playoffs (Y) goodluck mighty reds

Well I know who deserves the GM of the year award. 4 rookies winning a playoff game!

Mon Apr 25, 2005 3:10 pm

seeing the bulls wearing the black shoes, "the eye in the sky" is playing on the speakers but you barely hear it because the crowd was so loud, almost brought me to tears during the starting lineups. at that moment i knew that the bulls were back in the playoffs....

i thought the game was called very tight- to me the wiz benefitted from a lot of calls. but the biggest foul imo was the one arnenas picked up early in the game. i thought maybe he was doing his gilbertology thing again but it didn't look like he got on track the whole game

i don't want to get repetitive...

true arenas and jamison had poor games. but it was almost negated by hughes monster game and kwame's surprise bench support, as well as dixon

this win is similar to other bulls wins- they just find a way to get the victory. and normally defense and clutch shooting is invovled

the bulls could have played better as well. harrington and chandler were in foul trouble but still made an impact on the game. hinrich had a great floor game but missed a bunch of open jumpers

game 2 wednesay.. look forward to attending this one also and watch the bulls try and hold their homecourt (Y)

 such emotional shoes.

it means a lot to Bulls fans cause the dynasty era bulls always wore black shoes during the playoffs...

They're just shoes.

Mon Apr 25, 2005 5:41 pm

fine... they are only shoes!

Mon Apr 25, 2005 6:08 pm

I'm happy for the Bulls and fans. I only wished Curry and Deng were healthy and playing. Are they both out of the season?

Mon Apr 25, 2005 6:13 pm

Yeah unfortunately. I'd want to bandwagon the Bulls for the finals seeing asthough the Lakers didn't make it, but I'm scared of the Bulls fans if they do go all the way so I remain completely neutral  as long as Houston don't win.

You might be surprised, but I expected Hughes and Kwame's performances. Hughes in the 5 game before the playoffs had shot 50%+ in each one, averaging 23.2 PPG on 51.8% shooting. He was hot coming into this series, and the Bulls have no one on the perimeter to matchup with him.

Kwame I felt would come strong, after his comments about not really need homecourt advantage, I felt he would come out big in the road games and my predicton for him was 16-8 in the series.

Now Dixon, he's just a shot jacker, it's not like he shot well, he just took a lot of shots

I didn't expect Arenas and Jamison to both have poor performances, but also I predicted a Bulls win in Game 1, with Washington taking Game 2, so though dissapointed, everything is going somewhat in line with what I thought.

Ill do that for the Pacers-Celtics games.

lol jae..to some overseas nba fan, they're just shoes. to chicagoans...

wait why are you just focusing on the shoes lol

hey fgrep- did you predict arenas crying about the bulls being dirty players before the series starting? ;)

the bulls have the home crowd as their 6th man, the wiz have the refs for theirs. should be another close game. maybe this time the wiz pass to their post players in the 2nd half and masybe hinrich will make an open jump sot or 2

i got to see the replay.. that duhon dunk was hype!
