Wast his suspention "Season Long" or "73 games"? Why Stern and all of them saying he wont play in the playoffs?

Because the suspension was for the rest of the 2004-2005 season. That includes the playoffs unfortunatley.

I could've sworn I read that he was allowed to come back for the playoffs. That suspension is too harsh.

i dont think its too harsh myself. the man ran into the stands and beat up THE WRONG GUY. i think this guy should consider himself lucky to not be in jail. if he was not rich and famous you know he would be.

hahaha i laughed at that joke

but i think it was out of pity...

no you know what... it was actually funny

im gonna make an announcement: everyone calls coolmac a tool and a retard, but i think i like the guy!

and to the nets fan (cant ever remember his name) not necessairily, often times the cops just break up fights and tell people to get out of here, but sometimes they go to jail for 1 day and get bailed out the end.

its not like artest would be doing hard time or anything

i would be ejected from the game and arrested. its not like i would serve time in jail. i would get bailed out and probably sentenced to 45 hours community service.

trust me buddy, i used to smoke weed 3 times a day, when you have that much weed on you every day, you study the law and make sure youll know what to do if you get caught by police

The suspension was just 73 games. In my opinion he should play in the Playoffs.

The initial suspension was for 73 games, but I believe the decision to allow him back for the postseason actually scheduled to be made at a later date. And the decision has been made to keep the suspension going until next season. I too believe that's a bit harsh, because I believe that the Vernon Maxwell incident should have been the precedent.

Perhaps after the Spreewell incident, the Maxwell case was irrelevant. Both Spree & Maxwell were guilty of assault, but Spree got 1yr. Hard to say which one deserved more.

About Artest, Stern deemed he wasn't ready to return after their recent conversation.

artest: self defense
stephen jackson & jermaine o'neal: assault
detroit fans: idiots

pacers players get a shitload of suspensions
3 detroit fans get probation and another pleads no contest to one count of felony assault and one count of misdemeanor assault and battery

that's not balanced
and then francis only gets a few games suspended for kicking a cameraman
stern: (N)

i'm cheering the for the pacers to make the playoffs. it would be a great accomplishment to do this despite stern's efforts to keep them down (and kicking them at the same time)

I'm with you on this but I'll go a little further. I'm rooting for the pacers to wind up the 8th seed, sweep the heat, beat the pistons in 7 and then take whoever comes out of the west and win it all.

I'm not a pacers fan either I just think they got the shaft this season from the NBA and think the Pistons are a disgrace to basketball.
