Nice list, alexboom. Some of the players you don't really notice that they've been on so many teams, like Boykins, Christie, and even Chauncey Billups.

Edit: What's the NBA record for a player on multiple teams?

Sat Mar 05, 2005 2:20 am

boykins? what teams has he been in?

i knew about chauncey, like most of the pistons, he's been thrown around so many teams...

Damon Jones has been a bit of a whore too...

Those are the most surprising ones for me, never realized that they had been on 4+ teams.

He also got traded to Toronto, but I dont remember him ever playing a game for us.

I believe Gary Payton is missing -- Seattle, Milwaukee, L.A., Boston...

I added Payton and corrected Damon Jones' number of teams. Thanks for spotting them

He really started his career in Boston, as a defensive specialist (pretty astonishing as he played in France before where he was a terrible offensive threat) After 2 seasons he signed as a FA with Philadelphia, who traded him after 1/2 season to Chicago Bulls, in a 3 team trade including Hughes, Starks and Kukoc. Chicago immediately waived him and Bowen joined the Heat.
And now, he's in San Antonio where he became more famous :)

Earl Boykins.. my boy.. hes been with Cavs, Clippers, Nuggets, Magic, Nets and GSW

He went to Nets, Cavs, Magic, Clippers, Warriors then Nuggets in that order
Was undrafted which is impressive

I know Bowen played in Boston, Miami and San Antonio....I don't know the 4th team off the top of my head....

I don't mind if a player moves around once his contract is up and the current team doesn't want or need him....I do have issue with players demanding trades when they're under contract....

as for Earl Boykins, he always had talent....I believed he formed a dynamic backcourt duo with some SG at Eastern Michigan who was drafted by the Spurs....was it Derrick Dial?!? either way, I believe Boykins averaged something like 25-26ppg and 5-6apg in his senior season (can't be 100% sure off the top of my head) at Eastern Michigan which is huge for a man of his height....

I believe Bruce Bowen also played for Philadelphia.

Sun Mar 06, 2005 2:17 am

Philly?!? I never would have guessed that one :?

just read my previous post :P

Somehow missed that post.

Boykin's story has been amazing. In Eastern Michigan.. yes he did average 26 ppg and 5 apg. He was then undrafted went to CBA. And made his way through four teams before Eric M who was an assistant with the Magic wanted Boykins on his Warriors team and let him play decent minutes. The start of Boykins career... wat i remember most about his time in GS... is that he beat the lakers 2 times ... in one week
