Delete the thread

LOL @ Danny Ainge's stupidity.

Nice job, you traded away Walker to the Mavs and now you get him back two years later.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:29 am

Interesting that just before he got Walker back, he traded away the guy they got for him last time.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:38 am

Stupidest trade that Danny Ainge has made. Gary Payton holds so much more value than Antoine Walker, who's a freaking black hole. GP was the MVP of the Celtics and did everything he could to get the Celts at the top of the division. God damn Ainge for trading him to 1) an absolute non-contender, and 2) a team that's not on the west coast.

Hopefully, the deal was for the Hawks to waive Payton and then the Celtics re-sign him.

Awful trade. (N)

Please, let's not kid ourselves here, the Hawks aren't likely going to waive a guy making tha much money, that's pretty stupid.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:53 am

Whatever, but don't expect GP to report. It's the freaking Atlanta Hawks!

Fri Feb 25, 2005 8:24 am

I don't think the Hawks would mind too much, if they don't pay him like the Jim Jackson situation, who's the one saving money? It's not like the Hawks are looking to make a push towards the playoffs

Fri Feb 25, 2005 8:32 am

poor glove...

Fri Feb 25, 2005 9:16 am

^ was just gonna say the same.. they're throwing him around the league like he's a rag doll

Fri Feb 25, 2005 9:23 am

GP almost didn't report to boston... lol what's that say about atlanta

i can't believe ainge traded his boy, welsch

i think it's a good trade for boston. i don't think GP would have resigned with boston anyway. the trade opens up time for delonte west and/or marcus banks and 'toine gets a second look/tryout. if 'toine doesn't work out, they don't resign him and still have ~14 miill to spend in the offseason

Fri Feb 25, 2005 11:20 am

Shit, I was very surprised that Walker was back inm Boston. Could be a happy reunion with Paul Pierce? Or maybe this locks the Atlantic and the No. 3 seed to the Sixers??

Fri Feb 25, 2005 12:35 pm

Ainge is a snake. He'd deal anybody, and I'm betting he's going to kiss 'Toine's ass till he turns into a FA then boot him out.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 3:06 pm

if he's waived mebe Rod Thorn can work his NBA office magic and steal the glove... that'd be pretty damn sweet

either way i hope this cripples boston (Y)

Fri Feb 25, 2005 3:45 pm

We'll kick ass now with 'Toine back!

EDIT: What do you guys think? Will Walker get his #8 back, or will Al Jefferson keep it?

Fri Feb 25, 2005 4:26 pm

Pierce will be happy for now.

Sat Feb 26, 2005 12:18 pm

i want to see jefferson keep number 8 personally. i think walker will clearly be the better player right now but in 2-3 years i really see jefferson starting to do good things and i want the celts to keep him happy. if he willing gives the number up without preasure then thats cool but if he is forced(preassured) to give it up then i will be rather upset. walker has no real future in boston. that guy has killed us in the playoffs to many times now for us to forget after just a couple years.

Sat Feb 26, 2005 12:28 pm

Walker will wear 88

Sat Feb 26, 2005 12:54 pm

They're letting players wear numbers over 50 again..

Sat Feb 26, 2005 1:06 pm

What they had a rule that u cant wear a number over 50?? Some guy from Boston last year had a number over 50.

Sat Feb 26, 2005 1:27 pm

the rule was that the NBA needed to allow the player to use their number... so 69 would be hard to get! :)

88... wat a ridiculous number... if i couldnt get 8, i would have got 4 or something

Sat Feb 26, 2005 1:46 pm

or pay like Chris Webber did.
mutumbo wears 55 and always has so i don't think there was such a rule. Ron artest is 96 also i think

Sat Feb 26, 2005 2:00 pm

91 for artest...

well... wanna see someone get 69... laugh so hard... didnt rodman try to in his career???

Not too bad for the Celts... Antoine 22 (9-15) and 8, Pierce 13 (4-8, 5-6 FT)
Jazz up 80 -78
