How do you guys feel about him?

I have season tix to the Clips (U can't laugh anymore) and have been watching him close. I feel like he is on the verge of become huge in this league. His shot is on, he gets to the line and he is a decent defender.

He has put up huge numbers in his last 3 games. About 30 and 7. I lie this kid. I would like to see him on the AllStar team. It prob won't happen cause I look at the ballot and the West is stacked on forwards.

Let me hear your thoughts.

Peace.

The key to the Clippers season are Brand and Jaric, for obvious reasons, Brand's whole game, and Jaric being the only one capable of running the offense. Maggette is important, but not as important as those 2, and also Bobby Simmons continuing his good play. Maggette will miss about 509 games because of his always attack mode which will get him some injuries, but as long as he isn't out for an extended period the team will be fine.

The team has been winning due to defense and teamwork, and Maggette has sometimes strayed away from that.
Offensively, Maggette takes too many shots early in the clock sometimes, and he doesn't play the team ball that's winning games for us.

Also on defense he's been okay, but he's a capable shutdown defender, and has been a very good defender earlier as a Clippers, but this year hasn't shown that same intensity.

When the ball runs through Brand, even if he doesn't shoot, we win, when if goes through Maggette and he doesn't drive, the team losses. He takes a lot of shots, but I'm fine with his drives because he either draws a foul or scores, and pressures the oppositions big men, but the bad jumpshots and early jumpshots are a bother.

Won't be an All-Star, Brand has actually had an ailing knee, and injured right hand, but has been the teams best player because of his constant effort, defense, and leadership on the floor.

It was very uncharacteristic of him to lose his temper like he did also, but when he's 100% the team should be even better.

Good Answer. I am seeing them slide him to SF once Kittles gets back. Remember they have been winning without him. Simmons is a baller too!

Kittles will come off the bench when he returns, Simmons has played too well to be benched, and his tough and agressive defense is needed for the team.

Also his shooting has just become amazing, he showed flashes last season, but he's making himself known as a shooter from mid-range, he comes of screens and pops well, and can create off the dribble too. I think the team will remain with Maggette at SG and Simmons SF, it's working perfectly fine.

I was there. I did not see enough contact for him to react in that way but the refs were not giving us the call. I don't feel C. Mag is taking to many jumpers. He has made some big shots late in the fourth too. Also, he is a machine at the line. He was like 97% on monday night and shot 22 of them. When he is one he can make most of his shots.

but I totally agree the ball should be ran thru Brand, he is defintely the best on the team. He is very consistant, too bad he want be there on Sat versus the lakers. I was hoping to lay the smack down on Kobe.

Reagrding Simmons, I am going to be pissed if Sterling does not sign this guy. He is showing serious potential. NBDL baby!! Wilcox needs to get his shit on track too. He started the season like a mad man.

With Maggette it's not always, of course it's good when he hits them, but when he doesn't it's bad, like I said I like when he drives, uses pumpfakes etc and get's to the line, what was it 21 FT attempts vs the Bobcats. Look at the previous game, 14 attempts and he shot 10-19 from the field, he's at his best when he's in attack mode.

If you look at the games where he didn't get to the line and look at his FG% it's reletively lower.
vs Suns: 2 FT attempts, 4-12
vs Rockets: 4 FT attempts, 5-13
vs Lakers: 3 FT attempts, 9-25
vs Pacers 4 FT attempts, 5-13
vs Blazers 1 FT attempt, 5-20

When you shoot free throws it get's your jumpshot in rythm, he needs to get to the line, not shoot jumpers, if you watched the game against the Lakers you would've almost cried at how many early jumpers he was taking.
