2004-05 MVP - Predictions

Postby beau_boy04 on Thu Sep 30, 2004 4:27 pm

Who's gonna be the MVP this season??

I predict Shaq has a legitimate shot at the MVP award depending upon his team success.
Runner up: KG and TD

Thanks.

Assuming there are no overachieving teams with a suitable candidate, I'd say Shaq, KG and Duncan are the three most likely MVPs this year.

Tim Duncan
Kevin Garnett
Kobe Bryant

Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett have the biggest chance of winning the MVP, the past 3 years they both won it. I also added Kobe up there, because I believe he is on a mission to proof that he can win without Shaq, Gary Vitti (Lakers trainer) has never seen the Lakers work so hard even before training camp, which shows how serious Kobe takes this season. But it will be Duncan or Garnett.

I'm gonna say Duncan is gonna have a below par season to his standards, due to his commitments to the olympics over the summer.

I'd go with Kobe and KG, for the points stated already.

Heck.. Grant Hill.. :) If he is 100% healthy like he said, and some how gets this Orlando side back into the playoffs. Boom.. MVP

If Shaq is really mad like we think he is,he will easily win the MVP.If not KG will win it for sure.

I have to go with Duncan over Garnett. I just feel that last year Duncan had some problems but he is too good a player to let that get in his way. I think he will win.

But as someone said earlier, if Shaq really does turn around the Miami Heat he could win MVP as well.

I think Shaqw will run away with this award for a number of reasons. His weight loss, awesome talent and skills, the numbers he'll put up in the East and getting the sympathetic vote from Kobe haters.

well apparently kobe's been working out again this summer and he's hit an all time high of 230.. (added 15 pounds of muscle)

if you guys remember correctly prior to the 2002-2003 season, kobe hit the weights and weighed around 220 (?) and we all know what happened there..

he was more explosive, 3 point field goals improved drastically, highlight reel dunks etc..

i think he can do that once again this year.. i'll give him 32-5-6

Kobe's bulked up.. but he literally lost one and a half summers (Last suimmer and half of this) so even being bulked up doesn't nessary mean he improved on his other skills. But it's still fairly optimistic for him!

As long as KG and Duncan are still in their prime, I believe they will always be the frontrunners for this award. No offense meant for those who voted for Shaq or Kobe.
