sorry about my joke it was kinda ignorant, but I dont think anyone on this forum is really related to any player but maybe some people actually talked to some NBA players whether it be at a game or something.

i was rejected by toni kukoc for an autograph before. that kinda sucked. i did play bball with jalen rose before though, in atlanta. i never got to guard him and he didnt really do much scoring wise. infact i only saw him take 1 shot in 2 games and that was the last shot of the second game in which the score was tied and he just ended it. that was rather cool. the court started to get rather crowded as everyone was calling people they knew so he ended up leaving after the second game. well not right away, he talked with people for a few min then left.

i also saw tony battie once when i still lived in boston. nothing big just happened to see him. still pissed they traded him.

Oh, I forgot.

When I was in Utah I was standing and taking pictures and a ball rolled to the sidelines so I went to go grab it and I was about to pass it back and Ostertag told me to go ahead and shoot around. I didn't actually talk to anybody, all I said was thanks. But it was pretty cool just to be near all those stars and shoot around with them.

I go to UCONN, and became friends with Okafor last year. We had lunch a few times and I have his email (cant tell you that address though). I got his autograph the first time we talked, and then we starting talking more about the business of the nba, his plans, who he fears, we talked about fantasy basketball, and of course uconn. Okafor thought that my team, then ranked No. 96 in the country at yahoo, "sounds solid". It consisted of Kidd, Reef, Peja, Brand, Yao, Amare, Kittles, Cliff Rob, Blount and Ward at the time. It's really cool to see him on the cover of Madness, we were seriously going to play LIVE together but he was extremely busy and regimented to get that 3.8 gpa. Can't believe he was right there laughing with me and now he's in a video game, in greece, and miles away in charlotte!!!

I also have autographs of several champions from last year like denham brown. I think I have said a word or two to everybody on the team. Gordon, Boone, Villinueva, Marcus Williams, taliek.

I also saw Bruce Bowen and family at the bronx zoo in summer 2003.

Another thing, Okafor's favorite player and the player he sees most like himself was "Russ" bill russell. He puts Shaq, Kareem and Wilt in an equal category below russ. 11 rings, 10 fingers he chuckled.
I guess defense does win championships. Did russell ever win MVP though?

Its probably Shawn Kemp.

Ive met 2 NBA players, and balled with one. Ive met Larry Hughes and played against Cezary Trybanski this summer. I also know a few former and 1 current D1 players, but thats it.

I've seen Andrei Kirilenko play against a friend in an under 18 international game. Kirilenko played point guard in those days... Wasn't too bad either. Never thought he would end op being a top 20 nba player. It's mindbogling because that friend of mine played a pretty good game and had the same qualities as Kirilenko, probably a better shooter even, but he never really developed and has stopped basketball for the time being after a few unsuccesful stints on dutch pro teams. At the time I even thought my friend was a better player. I guess the biggest difference between the two was determination and character. Just shows you how important those elements are if you really want to make it. Talent alone won't get you that far. Amazing.

I've also seen Warzywoiski (can't bother to look up how you actually spell his name) play in a tourny in Harlem (The Dutch Harlem that is...). He's on the Argentian team and plays in Seattle (?) too. He was playing for a brazilian team at the time if recollect correctly. I can remember making jokes about him all game, because he looked like a terminator-like player, he had this look and style that made him look like he could erupt any moment, shaq style. (I'm not talking about skills, he just looked like no other player on the court) He had a few ferocious dunks, I was following him the whole tourny cause he really did stand out. He didn't make a lot of points, demand the ball or take big shots... but he stood out anyway. Afterwards I checked a couple times to see if he would land on an nba club, he did eventually but so far he hasn't made any impact.

 Ouch, that was cold but funny as hell!

Anyway, true story my cousin used to "date" Rafer Alston back in 1992 and yes we've met on a few occasions when I used to chill in Jamaica, Queens. No we weren't close buddies (him and my cousin sure were, she's the black sheep of the family!) and if he saw me now he'd be like: "Oh word, I used to mess with your cousin? We spoke before? Word?" :(

He was the first person I ever saw trick dribble, I can distinctly remember me telling friends that I met this dude who was better than Jordan. I was in AWE because I'd never seen anything like that in my life at that time.....

Also, does anyone know who Lenny Cooke is? He's not in the league but that's my man Black's first cousin.

I know Stephon Marbury very well. Yesterday I played 1 on 1 against him.
After the game, he told me "Hey Ben, you should play summer pro league".
I said "No No No. I don't wanna go to the NBA. Hell no! Might mess up my game."
