Honestly Sit, I gotta say that they got too much spare time on their hands. Haven't they ever heard the phrase "find a hobbie or interset" :?:

And Riot... you want to bring more of this stuff in; shame on you! :D

As a Laker fan that was an excellent read and very captivating! Regardless of whether or not I agreed with the analogies, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will share it with my homies. Thanks demilio, and keep the thinking man stuff coming! (Y)

Are they that desperate that they have to resort to comparing the current political climate with the NBA Finals? There's a reason Kerry is lagging behind, and its not underhype by the media or underestimating by the republican's campaign. It is the simple fact that nobody knows what Kerry stands for, and this is Kerry's bane.

It is this which keeps those undecideds who are not thrilled with Bush and don't think Kerry much better from voting democrat. Chances are, that when seeing that Kerry will not speak on the issues that are important to them, they will either cast vote for Bush, cast vote for Nader, or go home without voting at all. What a travesty.

The Pistons on the other hand stood for something, and everyone knew exactly what it was;Teamwork, fundamentals, playing the right way, they were all trademarks of that Pistons team even before they got to the Finals. And what of their leader? Looking and observing coach Larry Brown, there was no doubt of his convictions. Looking at his track record, there was no doubt about the fact that it was absolutely stellar.

If only one could say the same about Kerry, even forgetting about vietnam. If only, because if one could, maybe asking the question, "Can the democrats win?" Would be met by a much greater endorsement instead of the standard and hopeful maybe's of tommorrow.

The Detroit Pistons? Nay, but rather, I submit to you, the democrats are exactly like the Boston Celtics. A party struggling in mediocrity from it's former glory years. Bill Clinton, the Larry Bird of the democratic party, no longer the shining star. A party in shambles, unsure of what their convictions are. Playing to special interests, in desperation turning to John Kerry. Does he offer any more hope than Gary Payton? Or will he, come election day, be unaccounted for like Gary Payton promised to do come training camp.

Alas, the Democrats, like the Boston Celtics, are looking for that one push to get them over the top. They are looking to connect with their fanbase, who are tired of the losing, but maybe just maybe, their fanbase was lost so long ago. For it has been proven time and time again that you win elections by catering to moderate America, not special interest groups. That's why Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Kennedy, and the list goes on..That's why they were so successful. They offered everyone a little bit of everything. Maybe one day the Celtics will find their missing piece, and maybe one day the Democrats will find their star shining from a hill, and both will return to glory.

I'm not even a republican or democrat. I'm idependent of association with any political party. Ronald Reagan also had a plan. You can't ask people if they're better off than they were four years ago(I'm not btw) and expect them to vote for you if you don't say what you're going to do to make the next four years better beyond the general "Your life will be better" rhetoric. Bush is a moron. Kerry is a moron. Which evil do you want to support?
