Trading...?

This summer I saw T-Mac demanding a trade because of Orlando's failure in recent years. I'm starting to see the same thing happening to Vince Carter. And I think Kobe's intention to leave the Lakers is part of this recent drama as well. All of these names mentioned have been compared to the one of the greatest... the only and one Michael Jordan.

This is for you to ponder:

1. Did Michael Jordan ever demanded a trade in his span with the Bulls? Could you have image MJ demanding a trade back in the days?

2. What would've been MJ trade value?

3. What teams could have offered ENOUGH for the Bulls to accept a trade that would include Michael Jordan?

Oh btw I dont think Magic Johnson or Larry ever demanded a trade either. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Some players are just UNTRADABLE. MJ was one of them!
Shaq is one of them, Pipen was of then, Kareem was, Magic....

Such players only get traded when they want to!! No matter how stupid GM may be, he will NEVER in his right mind trade Shaq, Kareem or Pipen unless they asked for it.

Coz as soon as a player askes for a trade, he just looses that something with keepes him going. Thats why you see GMs quickly trade theur stars.

There is no Equal value for MJ!

pippen was not tradeable. jordan vetoed the trade of kemp & draft pick which would have been eddie jones if i'm not mistaken for pippen. and also pippen was very close to being dealt for boston in that year where the celts had those 2 top ten picks.

But if MJ didn't intervene, then he would've been traded. Thus being tradeable.

You could probably work a decent trade for MJ, though I personally wouldn't have traded him for any one player that was around during his career. I believe Krause was thinking of shipping him to the Clippers in 1989 for a package that included five players. I believe it's mentioned in the Jordan Rules, but I'm not sure where.

As luck would have it, I just posed this in another topic so I'll post it again:

Johnson and the Lakers rebounded in 1981–82, winning their division and defeating the 76ers in another six-game NBA Finals in which Johnson repeated as MVP. The season also had its share of ugliness. Early on, Westhead wanted to restructure the offense in a way that Johnson believed would have reduced his role. In a widely reported incident, Johnson exploded in the locker room after a game in Utah. “I can’t play here anymore. I want to leave. I want to be traded.” Reporters waited for the signal that Johnson was joking. It didn’t come.

Westhead was fired the next day and replaced with Assistant Coach Pat Riley. At Riley’s first home game, fans at the Forum booed Johnson during introductions. In Seattle he was jeered whenever he touched the ball. He paid the price in the All-Star balloting and was not selected as a starter for the only time in his career other than his injury season. I don't think Magic demanded a trade after that point or had any further outbursts, but at one point he did seem quite intent on leaving the Lakers.

isiah would have made more sense for the lakers but if you got a choose its clear who you would take.

also, the celtics of old, when red ran the show, had alot of loyalty to thier players. there is no way they would have traded bird for anything. bird was boston. i remember when someone(was it lakers or phili?) made wilt the highest paid player in basketball. well right away red went and restructered russels contract to pay him 1 dollar more than wilt was makeing just cause he felt he was the best player in the game. sure 1 dollar more dont mean anything financially but it definetly helps ones pride.

one more thing, if magic was pissed when he said he wanted to be trade i highly doubt he actually wanted too. this guy seems to absolutly love LA and i could never see him play anywhere else. its nice to see that the lakers knew where the strength of thier team was and instantly fired that coach. usually i am against this but when you got a player of magics talent AND knowledge, well i am basicly all for him running the entire show.

If the pick was Seattle's that would be a pretty horrible trade for Chicago, this is how the draft turnt out:
