This is a mixtape that was made by a Grizzlie fan off the Grizzlies messageboard and I didn't know that Jwill had all that in his system

That is some of the best passing I have ever seen . And I got to put his dunk rating up in game :D. That was crazy! But that's J-Will for you, he still does some of those crazy passes like the 'through the legs no-look' to Gasol in the playoffs. He is something.

Yes he is...I remember when he croseed Baron over in a game against the Hornets and Baron went like 3 steps the other way while Jwill blew passed him. Jwill has some of the quickess crossovers. B-Diddy isn't as quick as Jwill when he crosses someone over and drives by them. Francis is right there with Jwill, but he still doesnt have that quickness.

just because j-dub made a flashy crossover on bdiddy, doesn't make bdiddy a badder handler...
and if a player does a flashy move, doesn't mean hes a great handler, what about players like Stockton, Andre Miller? arent they great ball handlers?
whos got the best handle AO or Andre Miller?

Having great handles isn't just being able to have a killer crossover. I think the best handles have to go to BDiddy, Bibby, JWill, or Alston. Francis close behind.

Awesome tape...if I tried some of those, I think I'd get yelled at for travelling .

I don't care what anybody says, and as much as I hate him it has been said over and over again that Allen Iverson has the quickest and most decieving crossover in the league.

I think Tony Parker is also getting really good at crossovers, when he pulled those two ankle-breakers on Devean George.

And Bibby is also one of the best at crossovers in the league. I don't know who's the best from J-Will, Baron Davis, Francis, Parker and Bibby but Iverson definitley has the best crossover in the league.

Under Hubie Brown, he has taught Jason how to handle the ball alot better.

badder

thats not a word

Last year was the year that Jwill had less than 2 turnovers. He averaged 1.89 a game. Baron averaged 3.21 TO's a game last year and he averaged about 2.90 something when he was a starter for the Hornets. The only year he only had less than 2 TO's, was his first year in the league and he didn't even start a game. So I would say Jwill is a better ball handler than Baron as in taking care of the ball and having more solid moves with the ball. I would also put Bibby up at the top as a good ball handler because he isn't a turnover prone type of guy either. What makes Jwill so special is that he does all these type of moves, but he doesn't get that many turnovers, traveling violations and he also leads the league among starters in assist to turnover ratio.

So does the player with the best T.O. assist ratio is one of the best ballhandlers?

I agree with you that J-Will is the better ball-handler but you can't really say that he is a better ball handler than Davis because of the turnovers. Yes Davis had more but he has the ball in his hands practically the whole game because he has no offensive threats on his team besides Magloire. So he handles the ball a lot more than J-Will does. Look at all the offensive weapons the Grizzlies have: Miller, Posey, Gasol, Wells, Battier.

Like I said earlier I agree with you, Williams is the better ball handler but you can't compare his turnovers to Davis's turnovers unless you compare how much Davis tries to do with the ball in his hands compared to Williams.

Well if Jwill wanted to, he could have the ball in his hands most of the game as well. It's his decision if he wants to pass the ball or not.

Yes, a player with a high assist to turnover ratio can be one of the ball handlers. I can't find the regular season stats on NBA.com, but I do see in the playoffs that Payton, Damon Jones, Nash, Boykins, Tinsley, B-Diddy and Jwill are amongst the top of that list. IMO they all seem pretty good ball handlers. I know Baron has the ball in his hands most of the time, but that doesn't mean he should still get 3 TO's a game. No matter what, if you take care of the ball, you shouldn't get that many turnovers no matter how long you have the ball in your hands. It's either a right way or a wrong way to do things.

You have a point, having over 3 turnovers per game is a bit much even if he does handle the ball most of the game.

One thing I do disagree with though, you said Jason Williams could pass if he wants...Not under Hubie Brown he can't :D.

 Well that is true, but when you looked at him when he was with the Kings, he was still more of a pass first PG. But your right about he suppose to be a passer under Hubie's system.

A/TO should have be a factor, but not too much. You're telling me Kevin Ollie, Damon Jones, Antonio Daniels are even tier 2 ballhandlers? They just know how to take care of the ball and make the safe play.

I never said it shouldn't be a factor at all, I said it shouldn't be a factor when you compare Baron Davis to Jason Williams. It is still a factor but as I said earlier Davis is a guy who shoots first/drives first and handles the ball a lot. As SbhZmAFiA said earlier, 3 turnovers per game is still a lot if your trying to determine a players ball-handling ability.

I believe it was Steve Francis that said that Baron Davis has the best dribbles. Anyways, as far as ball handling goes I think we are talking about which player can do the better moves/x-overs. So, in this case turnovers and assists shouldnt really be considered.

yeah. and when Im talking about a crossover I mean a Tim Hardaway crossover, not a "hot-sauce-behind-the-opponents-back-crossover".

IMO J-Will is the best handler in the L right now, especially in his first seasons. I'm not implying that his crossover is better than B-Diddy or Franchise but J-Will used to throw out moves that many people hadn't seen before. Like the behind-the-back off-the-elbow pass to LaFrentz in the rookie game, that was just sick!
Ball handling isn't only about a 'killer' crossover, well at least to me, it's also about other moves you can do to beat your defender.

When you actually look at the moves Jwill does in the game, that is something you would see on the streets. He does things in games that you think are traveling violations, but they really not. You have to be really skilled to pull off moves like that and its not a travel violation. Like the behind the head pass when he would put it behind his head then throw it the other way. WHAT TYPE OF SHIT IS THAT! I mean thats what you call skills, and I never seen anybody else play that type of way consistently. In an article, they were talking about Jwill use to work on his behind the back passes all day when he was young in West Virginia. He use to like draw a circle on a wall and throw a behind the back pass inside the circle and every week or so, he would make that hole smaller to improve his passing. If you see someone like Hotsauce do a crossover, its sometime traveling, but sometime its not. I don't think Hotsauce would as skilled as Jwill handling and passing the ball in the NBA if he was in the NBA.

J Will does moves that are just damn nasty. He could do basic stuff and still get the ball to his teammates but he does no look behind the back bounce passes with precision. Hows the for an insult. Or behind the back rocket propelled passes in traffic on a fast break when the scores are close

about Timmy, i got a clip of him crossin Jason Kidd up so so bad. You have to play it in slow mo to see the ball
