Clippers, in ruins forever?

Clipper History.

The Clippers are the Love Canal of the NBA. Toxic. Tragic.

You don't move into that neighborhood. You drive right on by and shake your head.

If Sterling sells the team and Elgin Baylor resigns and they get decent replacements, they can get back on track.DS needs to stop worryin bout earnin money and winnin championships. If he wins a championship. He will get more money. His team coulda been better than the Lakers by now

They will always be the Laker's shadow.

I wish they'd move to Anaheim or San Diego.

The Clippers have cool uniforms. I don't to see them change their names, what would they be called? The Anahiem Mighty Geese?

Don't worry they'll bounce back, and yes they do have cool uniforms, very cool indeed.

As long as they continue to have a revolving door when it comes to coaches and players, they'll never be an annual playoff contender. They made a few playoff appearances in the 90s but never got out of the first round and they qualified for the 1997 postseason with a 36-46 record. The two appearances they made earlier in the decade came under Larry Brown with a roster that had basically been together at least two or three seasons.

There's no time for a coach to implement a system that improves as the right places are added and players never stick around for a long time anyway. As long as Baylor (or perhaps more accurately, Sterling) keeps making the same mistakes, the Clippers will continue to be a team that never goes anywhere but occasionally has an entertaining lineup.

both (Bryant and Garnett) were fresh high schoolers at that time, they were for sure high prospects, but if i remind correctly clippers had at that time very high draft picks ; and in 1995-96 GMs were not used to spend their lottery picks on high schooler (things has changed since).

and frankly, even if the clippers made stupid draft choices, the list of players they could have drafted doesn't really reflet the reality. TJ Ford and Luke Walton have to make their proofs still. Josh Howard, Tayshaun Prince, Carlos Boozer, Tony Parker, Latrell Sprewell were all late first round pick, so many other teams passed on them, and it would have looked pretty stupid if Clippers have drafted them.

Jason Richardson is just a dunker, Jalen Rose a good player but not an all star. Vlade Divac is European and at the time he was drafted GMs were really not used to draft European players very high.

So even if the Clips made stupid choices, they have excuses, and the list of players mentionned here is not really fair :)

Clippers teased us with a 30+ win season but never bothered to improve on that. Everyone just leaves......Derek Anderson, Maurice Taylor, Lamar Odom, Andre Miller and even Brand wanted to go.

They all did go except for Brand, it was so great in 2002, Brand makes the All-Star team, they win 39 games and are one spot out of the playoffs with the McInnis, Maggette, Brand, Kandi, Piatkowski and Q-Rich lineup, the biggest thing was that those guys were relativel healthy.
Odom wasn't healthy in their most sucessful year though, played his fewest games.
