Bucks offer Etan Thomas

Postby Full Surface on Wed Jul 14, 2004 12:33 pm

Etan Thomas has agreed to an offer from the Milwaukee Bucks that included $35-$40M over 6 years.

The Wizards have 15 days to match this offer.

I wonder why the Warriors went for Foyle while they could of had this guy for the same price.

Another offer that's a little bigger than it should be...

My guess is loyalty, or perhaps just the fact that Foyle is familiar with (and to) the Warriors' front office and coaching staff.

Foyle and just about every center in the NBA is light years ahead of Etan Thomas on offense. Thomas has the edge in durability, age, and better stats, but they're pretty equal from watching both on defense and weak side help. Thomas has the meaner streak though.

I would be shocked to see the Wizards just let him walk.

It's either: go for Eric Dampier or re-sign Etan Thomas

Probably didn't think Etan was worth that much, or he didn't want to go there, but he's not that much better just better offensively, I like Etan though was hoping we could get him back on the Wiz.
