NBA GM's are crazy

Postby twolvezfanfoever on Thu Jul 08, 2004 8:54 am

Lets talk about crazy deals here. Now Foyle,Okur,Alston, and Turkoglu or good players. But they are not good enough for more than $20,000,000.This is ridiculous.Plus the Nuggets re signed Camby for 50 million.Dont forget his knees arent that good anymore. That just tells you 2 things. The NBA GM's are desperate and players these days are so greedy. Its a damn shame.

Foyle-should be worth around 5 million
Okur-should be worth around 10 million
Alston-should be worth around 5 million
Turkoglu-should be worth around 10 million
Camby-maybe around 20 million cuz he is actually good

KG shouldnt be making over 150 million
Shaq shouldnt be makin over 150 million
Kobe shouldnt be makin over 100 million
T-Mac shouldnt be makin over 100 million

nobody should be makin over 100 million
they dont make a difference in the world
shit

my bad,im gonna put that down:

ALTOGETHER,NOT PER YEAR,THEY NOT WORTH IT (YET)
they shouldnt be gettin that many years either

all of them deserve like 3 year,7 million
once they play above their salary
thats when you raise it
you shouldnt sign them on potential

what happened to 220,000 for good players

Unless you are an annual all star representative, you shouldnt be makin more than 15 million.Unless your someone like Carlos Boozer,he's good now, didnt make the all star team, but he deserves around 20 million (altogether, not per year  )

also, you shouldnt get a boat load of money just for one good season (boozer, dampier, redd).if they can do it 2 years in a row, then you can start givin them big money

Ive been wonderin that my whole life.teachers, doctors, and all these lifesavers barely get paid anytihng.but joe schmo (fictional) is gettin paid 10 million for bein drafted in the 2nd round.

KG is great, but even he aint worth that much and that my boy

the only person that deserved that much was MJ and the most he ever got was around 70
imagine if he was in his prime this year?
200 million?

Nobody in the league could do what KG does night in and night out. Nobody. He deserves what he gets.

Not only does he play, he works as a pitch to bring in talent. KG personally goes over and talks with free agents and trys to get them to come or stay in Minnesota. Like he did today at the Wolves Summer league, sat courtside with T-Hud and Hassell.

Guess where KG was on the 4th of july...at Target Center working out. He deserves his cash.

GM's have it twisted these days. They overpay and in the end never end up winning

Respect to Joe D, he's never overpaid players. Even if Sheed leaves Joe isn't gonna match the Okur contract. He's good at finding other players to fill the hole.

Jordan got $31, $33 and $35 million for his three years after unretiring the first time. Nearly $100 million over 3 years. Shaq won't crack $30 million a year if he opts out.

Jordan is also the one that tried to break the union so that players could get paid even more. He wasn't satisfied making over $50 million a year in the mid to late 90s.

The only real excuse I can come up wit for these general managers is the fact that everybody is greedy so they gotta pay more than they should or the owner pressuring them to make a deal.or it has somethin to do wit the salary cap.do anybody else have any good reason for the waste of money this year?

bad teams have to offer more money to try to attract people to come to their team. Would you come to Spurs or Magic if they both offered you the same cash? Excatly, bad teams HAVE to offer more money to lure more free agents into coming to their team.

Its a shame, but thats the NBA life for ya.Its a shame that big money attracts ok people to bad teams. What happened to goin just to go and help out.Why cant we bring back the 70's and 80's? Lower the salary cap or sometin, see how many players suddenly retire because they wont get a big payday no more

They wouldn't retire.

This is how the game is these days. Maybe it's for the better, maybe it's not. We can't really judge. If an owner thinks this guy is worth that much money then go ahead and pay him. It's his cash, I find it hilarious.

This is the new NBA. Time to get use to it.

Im used to it but I will never like it cuz of the greediness and stuff.I hope it dont get to the point that high schoolers can leave whenever to join the NBA.That would be a sad day

GET RID OF HIGH SCHOOLERS
that would help alittle bit
and only allow juniors and seniors in the nba like the nfl

LeBron and Carmelo saved the NBA. Then again, how many LeBron's and Carmelo's will their be? Only two and they are in the NBA now.

I say put an age limit on. 20 years or older and that should clear up some of the mistakes.

The problem is, High Schoolers think they can become the next KG or Kobe because they are dominating in High School or their familes and friends say they can. In reality, the family and friends just want the cash.

20 years old limit.
