FINALS MVP

Postby Micchy_boy on Fri Jun 04, 2004 3:41 am

lets vote what you think who will be the Finals MVP.

well for me. it will be Kobe Bryant.
why????

1. Lakers will win the Finals so it must be a Lakers player.
2. Shaq will be up against not one not 2 but 4 good players (Big Ben, Sheed, Okur and Elden) which will make it for him to dominate the game.
3. kobe will be up against lets say Rip, Prince and Billups. (i dont see james and hunter can guard him) these 3 player cant stop kobe one on one.
4. Kobe will be motivated to win it coz it might be his last as lakers (pls God don't)
5. Well coz i want to coz he is my favorite player.

PLS VOTE.

Those 8 players will more likely be the candidate. i dont see george, prince or fisher winning this award.

1. Agree
2. Shame that none of those 4 can stop him.
3. Those four can't stop Shaq 1 on 1.
4. Shaq will be motivated to win 'cause Karl and Gary wants their championship.
5. 'Cause the Lakers needs to go to Shaq to win.

So I say Shaq win the Finals MVP.

Because you adore him? Because of your biasedness towards him? I can counter every reason you have given, in fact...I think I will.

1. Lakers will win the Finals so it must be a Lakers player.

Hardy Har Har, you're a riot + annoying, let the series atleast begin.

2. Shaq will be up against not one not 2 but 4 good players (Big Ben, Sheed, Okur and Elden) which will make it for him to dominate the game.

Yeah, Kobe will be chasing around Richard, won't he be exhausted? Ron Artest...remeber him? Defensive Player Of The Year ring a bell? Well that guy couldnt stop Hamilton, what makes you think Kobe will? Oh ofcourse, he's the real Defensive player of the year. How stupid of me not to know something like that.
Did you pause to ponder (think) that Kobe might be a wee bit wasted from chasing him all over the court? Hah, who am I kidding, Kobe = superman.

3. kobe will be up against lets say Rip, Prince and Billups. (i dont see james and hunter can guard him) these 3 player cant stop kobe one on one.

See above.

4. Kobe will be motivated to win it coz it might be his last as lakers (pls God don't)

Kobe will be motivated because of his immense greed for self recognition. He just needs to hold something of his own and say "woohoo, I'z the finals MVP, go me." Yeah, do it without a team without 3 other hall of famers, then we'll talk Kobe. Oh and for your "pls God don't"...these kind of comments really make me just wish Kobe evaporated into thin air. Then again, you would probably be Tracy McGrady's biggest fan if this were to happen, so on second thought..forget it.

5. Well coz i want to coz he is my favorite player.

Now we're talking, because you want it to happen it will. (Y)

*sigh* Malone should pull a NBA Live 2003 on all of you all's butt and run the fast break like mad and whoohoo, he could end up finals MVP with stats like 98 ppg (outscoring the whole Detroit team all by himself), 40 rebounds and to top that off 19 assists on alley-oop dunks to Shaq + Walton.

During celebrations we could have some Shaqalone showerfun.

*shrug* Shouldnt this "praise Kobe's greatness" thread be in the Kobe talk or something? Every other topic is about Kobe & The Lakers, how do you non LA fans manage? :P

We have no choice Psycho Jackal, we'll have to deal with the Lake Show until the team is broken up (i.e Kobe and Shaq traded).

I'll say Shaq. No disrespect to Kobe, but the last three times Shaq has been in the Finals, he's simply dominated. I think he'll be given the same opportunity this time, even with 3 other great players to share the ball with.

I would have to say Shaq too because of how he has proven to play in the Finals. Like Andrew said, he has won the last 3 times he was in the Finals.

My vote goes to Shaq because he is more expierenced and has proven himself to be worthy of it already

Man- I love Kobe...literally- but I hate to admit that Shaq is the MDE... so i need to say....Shaq! But I would like to see Kobe win it but I need to vote on who I think is the most logical, likely winner of the award and that is Shaq....

Plus listen to wat Madsen said!

Minnesota's Mark Madsen, even after grappling with Shaq for six games, thinks it'll be tough for voters to ignore Bryant's all-around contributions, and not simply on those days when he's flown in from Colorado. "Kobe is playing at the highest level I've ever seen him," Madsen said, "and I've seen him at a very high level. Because he's making things so much easier for his teammates." When Kobe's in the mood, that is.

Why would Kobe be MVP ?

cause hes been the mvp so far these playoffs.

Okay, simple as this, if Shaq is Shaq, then he'll prolly get it.
But from the way lakers have been playing, kobe will get it.

Kobe has never won anything without Shaq? Shaq has never won anything without Kobe. Kobe winning it with 3 hall of famers? Well guess what, Shaq did too. Kobe has a big ego and wants some self recognition? Gosh, that sounds just like Shaq too, big mouth, spoiled, but oh so dominant. Kobe getting tired out from chasing around Hamilton? Gosh, Shaq should get tired out from getting hacked all game, and constantly being guarded by fresh big bodies.

I really think you could go either way, And you know what? I don't really care. As long as the Lakers win the finals.

I think Kobe, just because of the way he's been playing. He has really been tearing it up.

I think Kobe aswell, as Gamewiz said, I really think he wants some recognition, I could picture Kobe thinking that he is getting sick of all the critics about him being in the shadows of Shaquille O´Neal during their 3-peat run. This is his best chance to ever win 1 of these, and I think he is going for it, also...I think winning the MVP is important for him just by saying that Shaq is not the only reason the Lakers win games, so I guess he is very motivated and I hope he will go in attack mode from game 1 to 4

i'm going with Shaq...no one can stop him down low if his teamates all decide to give him the ball...heck he could probably get 30-40 pts even though he has declinend since 2000...but i still think if Kobe gives up 60% of his shots...Shaq could get the finals and might even finish them off in 4 games...Shaq is that good...!!

i still want kobe to win the finals MVP but with the way Shaq dominates the game in 1st half, he might get his 4th finals MVP award. am i right Psycho hehehe.

After watching game one I think Billups and O'Neal are the frontrunners. Of course, a lot can change in 3-6 games. I voted for Shaq anyways. :D

If the Pistons win the Finals MVP will be Billups.....when was the last time he had a bad game against the Lakers as a Pistons? NEVER. I Think in all games he's scored 20+ points including 33 2 yrs back

If we look for a Playoffs MVP then Hamilton will win, he single handedly won games for detroit on the offensive end.

I didn't say you couldn't, go right ahead.

By the way...kobe haters? Since when do you know who I love and who I hate? Oh yeah, you're a wizard. No seriously, I dont hate Bryant, so please stop making baseless comments. I'm very crude towards him, I know...but others know how much I love him & will keep loving him, doesnt mean I cant critisize him...heh, the biggest reason I probably critisise him is because everyone (you Kobe Lovers that is) make him look like he's God, which he isnt. Thus, I balance it all out.

Please don't come back saying I make Shaq look like god because that would be the biggest crock of poo I've heard in awhile, I've said he's got a big mouth, I've said he stinks up his free-throws, I've said he should quit whining and just play ball.

It just annoys me no one sees any fault in Bryant's game. :?
