No

The coaches should not play the people the fans voted for. The coaches should play the players who give them the best chance to win. It's always a better game when the best players play. That's what happened tonight.

Why did Kobe play 36 minutes in the game.

Why did Carter play less minutes than Kidd, Magloire, Kenyon and Artest, I understand that you want to win but he played less than 4 guys off the bench.

Tmac is gotta be one of the most annoying guys, how many pull up three's can someone take (he took 6). He kinda killed the East. Baron too took a lotta 3's, 6 three's isn't needed if they are so contested. Im proud of Redd, he made his three's.

Magloire was impressive, and so was Yao, the man does not miss.

It wasn't a bad game though, the players scored not because everyone moved out of their way, but because they are just good, unlike the stupid rookie game.

Magloire was really impressive. And I'm happy that Yao was actually a factor this year. That alley-oop pass to Francis was really something. Shaq getting some quality camera time for himself was hilarious.

Overall, I think it was a very enjoyable game. (y)

the all-star game is truly the main event cause it was the nicest event of the whole weekend. Everything from the rookie game to the dunk contest sucked ass...although the 3 point contest was a little good. Great all-star game though...as usual.

I dont care what you say...its the fans game ...Vince Played 16 minutes..the only other players to paly less them him are Paul Pierce and Michael Redd (ON the EAST) ..and most of them minutes came in the 1 quarter ...and it was not like he wasent playing good 5-7 unlike T-Mac 1-6 from the arc and 5-11 overall ...there should be no way that the leading vote getter plays the majority of minutes in the 1st and barley any in the rest. ....that alll star game was competive ...but i want to see vince carter more and see some of that stuff he gots ...And if it was if he was playing bad then you you can question tmac ...throwing lob into traffic with like 25 seconds left is kind of stuipd ...Carter this (THIS YEAR) is just as good as anyone else on that court ...maybe last year he wasent , but this year he desivered to be on the court ...

P.S DONT TURN THIS INTO ANOTHER "WHO IS BETTER"

great all-star game. i love it when it comes down to the final second to settle the win.

jkidd is the sickest passer in the world. damn, i love his passes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
artest seriously needs help. wearing and1 and dada the first half, then adidas and nike in the second. he desperately wants a shoe contract.

btw, sprewell has his own shoes made straight off from his famous "spinning rims".

All recaps point to an entertaining contest. Hopefully it won't take too long for the tapes from PonTel to reach my front door. It's fitting that a hometown player took home the All-Star MVP - such an occurence has only been possible twice in the last six All-Star games.

Yeah i agree t-mac did took too many pull-off 3's. But hey i think carlisle put the game in the hands of tracy although he turned the ball over which kinda sucked. Overall its a good game...

 Yeah I saw it, when it happend I tought about posting it over here, it looked hilarious. As for the game itself....just amazing, I dont know what to say, the no look lob to K-Mart, Carters backboard slam, T-Macs backboard slam, Shaq taking pics of himself, Artest wearing 2 different pairs of shoes, Kobe lays it in while beeing wiiide open, Beyonce....it was so nice, but the West kinda got robbed on that 3 by Kobe which was counted as a 2 point shot. Oh well, cant w8 till next year :P . Jamaal Magloire played very well, I think he wanted to show that he really deserved to be a All-Star, for a minute I tought he was getting the MVP right there.

Yeah, IMO if the East had won, Magloire would been the MVP...

Here's a funny recap of the game, from ESPN.com

I am so disappointed at the nba for not playing Carter very much at all. I feel sorry for him seeing how he is the number one vote getter. Obviously fans want to see him the most of any other player on the court so he should play the most. It was not like he played bad either. He was really good and entertaining the 16 minutes he played. It seems like Vince gets fucked over everywhere he goes.

Vince definately has my vote for next years all-star game.

I agree with those other posters about Carter not playing much. The Iverson-to-Carter oops were great. The East should've won, and they were more entertaining than the West, IMO. Magloire was great, showing everybody he deserved to be there. Had a great block when Shaq tried a lay-up. IMO, Davis shot too many 3's, and too faaar away.
Overall, it was a great game.

i am a little dissapointed as well only 16 minutes (least minutes for a starter) i think Redd,Pierce and all but i think VC rili deserves his starter's position this year espiclally after those 2 injury seasons..i think Carlise could let VC play 7 minutes more and i'd be happy...and VC only missed 1 three pointer that he'd attempt

I was really dissapointed that VC played so few minutes, seemed like he wanted the MVP but no,Carlisle just had to give him 16 minutes. He gave Jermaine O'Neal the most minutes :|

the trophy KG won last year was an anomaly. the trophy Shaq won is the trophy that is awarded to allstar mvp's.

Last year they played with the retro look, so that included the retro trophy

yeah thanx for clearing that up. i knew that the trophy shaq won was what an all star trophy used to look like. i just thought that they changed that now with KG winning a different looking one last year. but i guess it was becuz of the retro look.

Sorry, the East COULD've won, but they missed some FT's at the end. The West clearly had the advantage, but i don't think they played better, IMO. Not always the best team wins the game.

i'm sick and tired of all these celebrities at laker games .... they think they're the only fans of the lakers..... if laker tickets cost as little as sacramento kings tickets .... we would see a whole different environment ... the place would be 10 times louder than ARCO arena!!
as of now .... those celebrities just cant scream .... of course ... half of them are over 60 ... and they're not there cuz they enjoy basketball ... most of them are there to get publicity.

anyways, i heard the cheapest tickets available was $5000 .... and those seats are like all the way in the back .... which means that it was next to impossible for the general public to even enter staples center

one question...didn't the retro trophy looked like wut Shaq had won?cuz when Scottie Pipen won MVP in one all-star game...forgot which year....it looked like Shaq's trophy instead of KG's...
