DUNK contest participants finalized

Postby fgrep15 on Wed Feb 11, 2004 4:38 am

The three year rule was removed allowing Ricky Davis to be in it.

Chris Andersen,
Ricky Davis
Fred Jones
Jason Richardson

Actually I'm very dissapointed at this, only four people in the Dunk contest is like having only one round.

Jason vs Ricky finals, not too shabby. (Y)

Jason will probably pull of one of his "Richardson" Dunks...Ricky will steal the show with some creative shit. (Y)

Dreaming is fuuuuun. :D

I think Chris Anderson could be a sleeper for this contest. I remember a couple of years ago he had an incredible dunk against Utah and he's taller than the other guys so that might be an advantage.

despite removing that stupid rule, ricky davis was the best they can come up with????? well, at least they got rid of the rule, for starters. now they need to expand the pool to 6-8.

i guess ricky ricky aint that bad.

Yeap, that freethrow dunk was quite neet, but didn't also Jonathan Bender did that in the 2001 or was it 2002`?

I wouldnt be suprised if he did, but bender is 6-11, so its like the "shawn kemp" rule. Its easier for him than brent barry.
I think Ricky Davis can make some noise in this dunk comp :)

Will it be the same judges as last year with Jordan, Spudd, Nique ect.
I would do a better job than those guys, or anyone who has judge the last couple of years.

They're always giving way to high grades. An average/solid dunk gets like 8points when it should get like 5 or 6 (N)

LeBron James plans to watch the NBA's dunk contest -- for now.

James was not among the four players the league announced Tuesday will take part in the event during All-Star weekend in Los Angeles. But the Cleveland Cavaliers' star rookie has been hinting at a possible surprise appearance.

Citing a sprained right ankle that sidelined him for three games, James recently turned down the NBA's invitation to be in the dunk contest. James could reconsider, however.

"I don't know," he said. "I'll think about it. There are a lot of people who want me to do it."

If James does decide to participate, the league would probably welcome him.

Lebron has said that he might reconsider and enter, making it five. I don't know if he can do that, but it said that in the newspaper today.

Wouldn't be suprised since he said in the last Dunk contest that he was suppose to have it to the final dunk but he couldn't do the steps right so Gilbert Arenas told him to do the behind between the legs dunk instead.
