Maybe someone should start a thread "The Lakers are the most disapointing team this season"...

If ever we need proof that anything can happen during the course of the NBA season and that a great team on paper won't necessarily be as dominant as expected, the Lakers' 2003/2004 season is the perfect example. Who would have predicted an NBA Ironman such as Karl Malone would miss so much time? Still, if you play in the NBA long enough you're going to get an injury that puts you out for more than just a couple of games.
Payton getting ejected in the first quarter didn't really help the Lakers' cause either. After their impressive start, they've been very unlucky. Even when it looked like they'd have most of the troops back in action, Kobe was forced out at least another five games. It goes without saying, but there has to be a lot of frustration within the Lakers' organisation right now over the bad luck they've had so far this season.
Oh, and credit to the Sixers for the win. They need all the wins they can get right now to get back into the top eight.
